Martha Plimpton, actress, 46, is slammed after boasting at a pro-choice event that she had her ‘best abortion’ in Seattle when she was 19

Evil. We should not be surprised by the growing popularity of Jacob Rees-Mogg. People are naturally attracted to those with a strong moral compass, which by definition excludes feminists.

  1. I’m sick of the “my body, my choice” argument. The potential baby is NOT her body, neither biologically nor ethically. As for “so I can do what I like with it” – try arguing that as a defence in a rape case! You can do what you like with your body provided you don’t harm others – including the one you hold in trust in your womb.

  2. It’s worth noting that Rees-Mogg’s position on abortion is the same as that of Islam and Buddhism. So when Yvette Cooper, one of the many epitomes of smug self-satisfaction in the Labour Party, said on TV that it was alright for Rees-Mogg to hold these views but that he should never be Prime Minister, I wonder if she thought of the implications vis-a-vis her Muslim friends?
