1. How I hate dear William!
   For I cannot match his academic credentials – and had better not try I fear!

   His posts are a must read for anyone who entertains any hope of understanding the present socio-poilitcal situation, and are positively jam-packed with the sound of nails being hit squarely on the head.
   but I HAVE long understood his observation that it is principally about power, where that is defined simply as ‘The Ability to Act’.
   As a species we are obsessed with it due to – I take it – to the fact that possessing it is a major survival advantage, and not possessing it likewise a major disadvantage, to the point of extinction.
   it’s that important.
   And as such, we are stuck with it.
