First woman in pipeline to become elite US Navy Seal drops out of training

Our thanks to Martin for this. It starts:

The only woman in the Navy Seal training pipeline has dropped out, a Navy special warfare official confirmed Friday (11 August).

The female midshipman voluntarily decided to not continue participating in a summer course that’s required of officers who want to be selected for Seal training, lieutenant commander Mark Walton, a Naval special warfare spokesman, told The Associated Press (AP).

She decided ‘voluntarily’ to not continue, eh? Now why might that be? My hunch is it became clear she wouldn’t make the grade, and was advised to drop out to save her embarrassment, and to keep the feminist fantasy of female front-line combatants alive, for ideological reasons, regardless of the obvious military risks.

If everyone who read this gave us just £1 – or even better, £1 monthly – we could change the world. Click here to make a difference. Thanks.

  1. The female midshipman … ‘

    Midshipwoman then, isn’t it? How complicated things become when attempts are made to strip the gender out of nouns, which almost invariably seems to follow the pattern of masculinising them, as in actress to actor. It’s almost as though feminists are ashamed of the feminine, but they couldn’t be, could they?

    • Yes ,you would think that it would be more logical if women insisted on feminising the language. I always feel uncomfortable when women are referred to by their surnames as if to use the more personal Christian name is somehow demeaning. So why not use Christian names for both sexes? As you say they are somehow acknowledging that the traditionally male way of doing things is superior.

  2. Quote;
    “Decided voluntarily” ?

    How else does one ‘decide’?

    If ‘You’ really decided, it ‘Must’ be voluntary.

    Otherwise ‘You’ did not decide.
    It was decided ‘For’ you.

    These people with their fingers on the button can’t speak, write or think I suggest.

  3. The mere idea of a female SEAL is preposterous, to say the least.. We are playing a game, or living a lifestyle that lost any purpose to exist anymore. And this is the result….
    Sometimes things do need to change.
