Channel 4 News broadcast on behalf of the Women’s Equality Party

This piece (video, 5:50) was broadcast nine days before the general election. Michael Crick was woefully under-prepared to take on Philip Davies, and totally uncritical of Sophie Walker, the Women’s Equality party leader and candidate who went on to lose her deposit.

  1. Mike, many thanks for my belly laugh of the day. There was hardly a minute of that without something hysterically funny. I am not a Conservative voter but were I resident in the constituency of Shipley I would certainly vote for Philip Davies.

  2. It’s FAR worse than you suggest – Crick was so keen to see Davies defeated that he gleefully reported on his “defeat” on election night (even though Davies of course won with more votes than ever). In fact, he went as far as asking Corbyn questions about the “defeat” https://hequal.wordpress.com/2017/06/14/fake-news-reports-on-defeat-of-philip-davies-mp-expose-full-extent-of-misandrist-media-bias/

Crick has been a political reporter for almost his entire adult life (other than working for Labour). He knows by now the stupidity of reporting on supposed results before the votes are counted, but he just couldn’t resist here becasue he hates Davies so much.
