BBC: Doctor ‘acted illegally’ by circumcising boy

Our thanks to John for this. As we often find with headlines above BBC pieces about men’s and boys’ issues, it would have been more truthful with the omission of inverted commas:

Doctor acted illegally by circumcising boy.

If everyone who read this gave us just £1 – or even better, £1 monthly – we could change the world. Click here to make a difference. Thanks.

  1. The problem is they’re saying it’s illegal because the mother didn’t consent, not because it’s non medical mutilation. They’re saying the mother’s the victim, not the boy. What has the BMA got to do with this when it’s not a medical procedure? Doctors are not legally allowed to amputate body parts without medical indication without consent.

And the BMA’s claim that harm hasn’t been proven is an outright lie because the foreskin has been proven to have thousands of nerves. It’s part of the body. Living tissue. It’s no different from saying glans amputation or ear lobe amputation hasn’t been proven to be harmful.

So even when a boy is the victim of grievous bodily harm, the law pretends a woman is the victim. Un-frickin-believable. Just a few days ago Ian Paterson was jailed for doing this to women’s breasts. That proves forced non medical foreskin amputation is illegal. There’s no law that grants exceptions for forced foreskin amputation.

I’m tearing my hair out here.

    • Agreed. But for the second time in a day the BBC have used the expression MGM in relation to this. That’s a breakthrough, and unexpected too.
