Two weeks ago I was in a discussion on Sky News, following a comment by Theresa May during an interview (with her husband) that there exist “boys’ jobs and girls’ jobs” around the house. Needless to say, feminists took offence, so it became a matter of pressing concern to the mainstream media. Sky News invited me at short notice to debate the issue with a feminist, assuring me I’d be informed beforehand who she was, so I could research her.
As I commonly find also with the BBC, I wasn’t informed of the identity of the feminist in advance. She turned out to be Nichi Hodgson, journalist – for the Guardian, among others – and former part-time dominatrix. Kay Burley was in her strident feminist mode, as I’d experienced during a previous interview with her – here (video, 14:49). At one point Burley stated imperiously that I had ‘misspoken’ by referring to men as a class – “You don’t mean that”. She also went in for her trademark forced hysterical laughter, at one or two points.
Sky were unable to get an Outside Broadcast vehicle to Bedford in time, so I contributed from home via Skype – I’ve since bought a HD Logitech webcam – and I was able to see neither Burley nor Hodgson. Hodgson was in a studio, presumably that of Sky News, and I’d wager she had sight of both Burley and myself. She derailed the discussion by disputing my contention that men do more paid employment than women.
I’m still trying to get copyright clearance from Sky to put the piece on our YouTube channel, in order to avoid the risk of a copyright strike. In the meantime the piece is available through others, such as here (video, 10:58), where it’s had 32,000+ views already.

Welcome back Mike. I am an egalitarian by nature and thus am not a true MRA by nature, but feminism has become so “toxic”, that without you there is no balance. Make no mistake (I am a Fathers Rights Activist) we as a species desperately need your sarcasm and humour to keep us afloat at times. When I get the funds I will donate just for the sake of balance. Again welcome back and know that some us very much depend on your output and diligence. So yeah, cheers Chris.

Christopher, thank you. MRAs are the true egalitarians, as our 2015 election manifesto should explain:

Long story short? Men’s and boys’ human rights are assaulted in at least 20 areas by the state’s actions and inactions, almost always to privilege women and girls. I fail to see how an egalitarian cannot be a MRA. Have a good weekend.
