  1. GOAL!!
    Er, no.
Not that sort of goal. That’s over now…

I have ‘negative’ interest in football I have to say, but on principle alone I’m glad, wish him very well and can but hope that a new precedent has been set for the future.

    • In fact not only “quashed” but re-tried for the same crime and found innocent. So in fact “doubly” innocent. This young man has more than paid for his stupidity and the improvement in North ales police’s rape stats. As he is now innocent yet has served his time in prison for the crime he is innocent of! I know not what one can do but look out for the SJW campaign that seems inevitable to follow this news.

  2. What is incredible considering there was never any evidence against him but simply an absence of evidence (or memory) . He spent time in jail and his career had been irreperably damaged, this damage extended well past his jail time yet despite this he has had no compensation of any sort. The commentary following the verdict of innocence was not on the injustice to him but on whether the type of evidence he used to prove his innoncence should be banned in future. It is a sad situation when someone can be proscecuted and convicted despite there being no complaint or evidence against him .

I can’t see him as any sort of hero because his behaviour while legal was sordid and disreputable but he has been treated extremely harshly and unjustly and it is sobering to think this is someone with enough money to have excellant representation that would not be available to the rest of us if we were in a similar position.
