Mothers’ Day is in two days time. Ian, our legal adviser, writes:
Task for the day:
As you go round your area, take a photo of any shop/business/pub/restaurant that is doing a special offer for Mothers’ Day.
They have a legal duty to offer something equivalent on Fathers’ Day (June 18). If they do not offer something similar, they are in breach of their legal duty to treat men and women the same, and we can threaten them with legal action.
If everyone who read this gave us just £1 – or even better, £1 monthly – we could change the world. Click here to make a difference. Thanks.

No doubt many will say you’re ‘acting like the feminists’, but I know what you’re trying to achieve here. As a society, we seem to almost worship women. I always see so many ads about showering mothers with gifts, but you see little when father’s day comes round. You see it on Valentine’s day too as the offers are always on flowers and chocolate and perfume. Of course, grown men tend not to care about such frivolous things. I get annoyed when anyone buys me a card as it’s such a waste of money!

Both events best avoided. What did PT Barnum say was soon parted from money?

Good principle.
Gonna take some nerve in practice though…

Here’s a good one, Mike. Recently I got a notion for takeaway pizza and registered online with Let’s Eat. I got addicted to it and spent way too much, but that’s by the by. Let’s Eat just sent me an email asking me to treat my mother to takeout, so it’s recorded. Will they send one about Father’s Day in June?
