The feminists have a lot in common with the gentlemen. Both parties believe in equality but both are willing to exempt women from equal duties and both are happy to see women let off the hook more lightly than men.

Though it is feminist women who have made the fuss it has been and is still “Gentlemen” who have passed the laws and put in practice the policies. Even now it is gentlemen who indulge the feminists, apart from of course the rare ones such as Philip Davies, who though a Gentlemen doesn’t treat women as if they were children to be placated. He is a rarity in our political establishment.

well as usual it seems equity in retirement pensions is bad if women find they need to work , as always not a blink that men work into their 70s. I was particularly noticing this as its a typical cold rainy day here in the NW and this morning I drove past 5 different sites with men in high vis suits working on road and building projects. In some sense its these men we should be concerned about working into their 60s or 70s ! But of course no one even thinks about males in such contexts.

Well this is a “positive” story in recognising that men do carte for their children but have to work. But I despair as is the usual case the Committee won’t engage with the practical issues, that companies tend to want to pay people to be at work, working and in today’s society it is rare both parents can afford to be “off”. Yet another set of recommendations based on the lives of upper middle class folk.
Somewhat depressingly there is also a reference to looking at “other countries” which one knows means Sweden.
