An interesting piece, albeit with some serious flaws. I’ve left the following comments:

Whenever and wherever FGM is practised, it is carried out by women at the behest of women. The notion it is about ‘oppression of women’ is a feminist myth. If the criminal justice system wanted to end FGM in the UK, it would need to target and prosecure middle-aged and elderly black women. It won’t do that, forever (and fruitlessly) trying to pin the crime on men – not one successful prosecution since the FGM Act of 1985, 32 years ago.
Men represent a fair proportion of those subjected to honour killings (as Philip Davies MP pointed out in a recent debate) and arranged marriages.
Women as a class have accepted the privileges won by feminists, not challenged their evil ideology – with very rare exceptions – and collectively thrown men as a class under a bus. And now we’re supposed to feel sorry for them, for some of the consequences of their actions? Forget it. The privileging of women and/or girls in so many areas (20 in our 2015 election manifesto) is the direct cause of the disadvantaging of men and/or boys, and needs to be stopped, for men and boys to have true gender equality.

When Karen says

She is right, but only partly.
Those who are BEING led may well ‘believe it’ due to a combination of youth, stupidity and the the ‘THREE i’ s, (Inadequacy, Insecurity and Inferiority) which I have written about elsewhere.
Those DOING the leading know full well what they are doing and why they are doing it.
Often they are feMarxists who have identified an exploitable fault line in society they can jemmy open and exploit.
Their goal is POWER.
Others want that other common human desire,
Both of these groups of psychopaths care not a jot for the harm they are doing and lives they are damaging.

Arranged marriages aren’t about oppressing women if every marriage is male-female and the male is forced into it too.
I’m not making a case for it, but I read a book called The Art of Choosing in which the West’s stance on unlimited choice being the best is questioned. Apparently arranged marriages have better outcomes than marriages for ‘love’.
