Jeff sent it because he considers it (as I do) a rare occurrence of the word ‘misandry’ in the mainstream media, without explanation. It suggests that a word that not too long ago was unknown to the vast majority of people – those without a strong interest in gender politics – is at last becoming familiar to many.

Yes indeed, an ordeal to be got through, sustained by the thought that as gloomy as February is, the days are longer, the weather warmer and spring and British Summer Time only weeks away.
