Wonderful news, reported in recent hours by the Daily Mail, The Guardian, BBC, Independent, Mirror, Metro. Doubtless more publications and outlets will be picking up the story shortly, including the Times and Telegraph.
With Philip Davies on the committee advocating for true gender equality, and consideration of issues disproportionately affecting men and boys, the ‘Women and Equalities’ committee name looks even more absurd than it already did. We look forward to seeing how Maria Miller (C) will chair the committee from now on.
It’s time for Education Secretary Justine Greening’s second job title – ‘Minister for Women and Equalities’ – to disappear, or a ‘Minister for Men’ appointed. Philip Davies would fit that role admirably.

Good news indeed!
Now it is time, as you say, for the abolition of the foul and vile ‘Minister for women and equalities’ job title to end – it should never have come to pass in the first place, for reasons I’m not going to rehearse yet again here.
This would certainly be better than a minister for men AS WELL – which would result in the absurd situation of them spending much of their time and energy trying to undo the efforts of the other, which you hint at yourself I think.
What about a ‘Minister for mutual respect and getting along affably with each other’, as God surely intended.
Perhaps they could start by sacking Alison Saunders?

I can’t agree with you on a specific point here. I think it’s important that there be a Minister for Men, to act as a focal point (though Philip will, I guess, be the de facto Minister for Men, now he’s on the W&E Committee). There’s no need for a Women’s Minister because women’s and girls’ rights aren’t assaulted relentlessly (in the way that men’s and boys’ rights are).

Yes, good point and true.
What weighs on my mind to some extent, is that if the men’s movement is to use rationality, fairness, logic and justice as an antidote to vindictive extremism, it must itself be seen to be all these things and more.
I think the pendulum is beginning to swing back our way, and I would hate to see it overshoot thus serving as an excuse for yet another round of destabilising conflict (which is what the feMarxists want afterall).
But it’s a tricky balance to get right though, I agree.

Great news! I’m sure that Philip will do a great job at debunking feminist misinformation in the Women’s and Equalities Committee.
Perhaps the first thing that he should push for is to rename the ministry and the committee ‘The ‘The Ministry for Equal Opportunity’ and ‘The Equal Opportunities Committee’ , to emphasise that other groups in society can face inequality and that Women are not especially disadvantaged in this regard and that we should be focusing on equal opportunity not outcome

He might consider the professions where women are paid more than men.
Perhaps 6)5 more for midwives is hardly a surprise. but 25% more for Probation Officers 23% more for fitness instructors, Perhaps 20% more for childminders and related professions no surprise but how about women parking and civil enforcement officers being paid 18 % more.
The list goes on; do have a look.. Male social workers paid less than their female colleagues and male Psychologists over 9% less than their female colleagues.
Rather than argue about the dodgy stats it might be the thing for Mr Davies to ask how these “gaps” occur? Clearly it can’t be the men are rushing off taking maternity leave, so feminists how come?

I’m going to wish him the best of luck regardless of any possible faults anyone may think he has.
An opposing view on such committees is always required even if you don’t agree with them(look at parliament ).
of course we can expect the idiots to try and undermine him and in turn undermine any work being done, but that’s the stupidity of parliamentary politics.
The Title for the Minister for Women and Equalities’ has got to go. If anything other groups such as the disabled or LGBT… has a better claim for a specific minister.
