University of Southern California cancels video games panel due to lack of women

Our thanks to Martin for this. From the comments stream:

The overwhelming number of game players are male especially in the upper echelons there are practically no females.  It is very competitive.  So now we have to let women win to make them feel inclusive.  Believe me if this were a women dominated event with no men it would not be an issue. I work in the tech industry and it’s bad enough when you have to force women to pull their weight because they lack the necessary skills, now the gaming industry is forcing futility upon us.

Another:

Women were invited and welcome to participate, they just make up such a minuscule % of video gamers and developers. This is like cancelling a beard contest due to lack of women participants or panelists. The real sexists are in USC admin.

  1. It is surprising that the feminists are not ashamed of pushing their agenda, when it is completely clear that women are much less technically endowed than men. About 99%-1%,and even the 1% is an exaggeration. This social approach is not helping anyone, harming men and the industry itself, and making it sky high clear that women can’t compete with men in the technical fields. How much longer are we going to play this game of The Emperor’s New Clothes ? H. Christian Andersen would find today’s western society very much like his fairy tale story. 100% !!!

  2. As usual men are penalized because women can’t compete at this level. Organizers can’t run an event because women aren’t there to supervise… So ridiculous and outrageous that it’s absolutely amazing in it’s stupidity.
