William Collins: The Wrong Sort of Equality

An excellent blog piece by William Collins in response to the EHRC 2016-19 Strategic Plan Consultation. The broad outcomes of such consultations are always decided in advance, and even when anti-male disadvantaging is proven by those who respond, nothing is ever done to reduce that disadvantaging. That’s why we won’t be submitting a response.

Let me present some of our experience of submitting evidence to government and public bodies. In 2012 I submitted evidence to House of Commons and House of Lords inquiries, showing that one consequence of driving up female representation on corporate boards is corporate financial decline. The evidence was ignored, and as a result of government bullying of FTSE100 companies, the proportion of female directors on their boards rose from 12.5% in 2011 to 25.6% today. Now the government is bullying FTSE350 companies into having a third of their board positions held by women by 2020.

Some time ago the Home Office had a complete farce of a consultation exercise, on extending the law on domestic abuse. We publicly challenged Theresa May MP, Home Secretary, and submitted a 154-page report. Details here. We had an acknowledgement of both documents, nothing more.

  1. Domestic abuse, of course, not domestic ‘violence’, whic, if I understand correctly, is an entirely different and far more serious matter. When I last read the proposed definition of domestic abuse it included behaviour typical of many, if not most, married women (withholding sex, for instance ,and manipulative or controlling behaviour) and criminalises any attempts men might make to prevent their wives from bankrupting them and metaphorically burning the house down. I distinctly remember realising that the actions I am compelled to take to prevent my wife, as lovely and rare as she is, from putting us into the workhouse would, should she ever be inclined to complain to ‘The Police’ under this proposed law, result in arrest and possible imprisonment for me. Some choice.

Advice to young men: assume that all black and yellow striped flying insects do sting, and hard, and stay well away.

  2. Once upon a time I might have asked myself why the State was so responsive to to femarxist pressure.
The answer has now been clear for long time – it IS the State that is driving this agenda, because ony the State has the power to.
