Our submission to the Home Office consultation on the strengthening of the law on domestic abuse

J4MB is fortunate in having supporters who are willing to devote time, energy, and expertise to support the party in a wide variety of ways. One was recently the author of a remarkable report on the institutional anti-male bias of public bodies, with a particular emphasis on how that leads inevitably to a lack of concern and support for male victims of partner violence. 94% of men who are abused by partners are abused by female partners. The public bodies and institutions include:

– Home Office

– Crown Prosecution Service

– the police

– Probation Service

– Ministry of Justice

– the judiciary

– Equality and Human Rights Commission

The supporter generously agreed to our request that we use his report as part of our submission to the Home Office’s consultation on strengthening the law on domestic abuse. Another key supporter and myself have been burning the midnight oil in recent times adding further material, and we believe the 118-page-long final report submitted an hour ago to the Home Office is strong in terms of both breadth and depth.

[Note: The report was later modified to a more visually appealing 154-page report.]

The other element of our submission to the Home Office was a copy of our recent public challenge of Theresa May, Home Secretary, to hold a public inquiry – here.

Please let us know what you think of our submission, by sending in your comments. If you’d like to demonstrate your support for our work in a more tangible way, we invite you to make a donation, possibly ordering an individually numbered J4MB wristband, for which we ask a minimum contribution of just £5.00 (inc p&p). You can make a donation and/or order wristbands through this link.

Thank you for your support. Without it, J4MB wouldn’t exist. With your support, we’ll be around for many years to come. I’m personally committed to fighting general elections until at least 2030, when I’ll be 72 – whether as leader, or otherwise.

It’s been a long day.

Good night.

  1. A remarkable document in the very best sense of the word. Its publication is another milestone in the MHRA’s struggle in this country, but who in authority will pay anything more than passing recognition to its contents?

Where is the public outrage over the bias against men revealed in the facts and figures that have been in the public domain for a long time and which you so ably present?

  2. Great to see such a well researched document on such an important issue, there’s just so much to write about this topic but it seems you’ve covered almost all of the key points. There’s barely anyone in Parliament concerned with men’s issues, but it might be worth sending a copy to Philip Davies and perhaps Dominic Raab?

Perhaps one recommendation you could add in a future edition would be for Parliament to actually debate this issue. In Scotland one MSP fought long and hard for years to force the Parliament there to actually have a debate on violence against men just as they’d debated previosuly violence against women and in the end he succeeded. Simply having MPs talk about this problem and recognise male victims the reality of domestic violence would be a start.

  3. I can understand your despair Sean. However this is a fight vital to have. DV is right at the core of some much in public policy, not just criminal justice. The merest mention in family courts is enough to deny or curtail contact. It is used to get taxpayer aid in legal divorce proceedings. It is behind “administrative ” civil orders ( Go Orders) that remove men from their homes .It provides the cover for feminist education in our schools. Gives housing rights. And funds campaigning organisations that should be providing actual services. No wonder there are so many lies told about this issue. For a chink in the “big lie” may bring this web down as it is totally built on woman=good man= bad . So stick at it, J4MB!

Rational argument is impossible with these people any more than rationally debating the “Jewish Question” with joseph goebbels…..thats why the feminazi mob had me banned from twitter because i had the insolence to try to debate with them….. i am appealing with help from Index on Censorship and the Libertarian Alliance to be allowed back on twitter…..if anybody would like to support my battle i would be grateful
