Glen Poole: ‘Welsh gender politics putting male and female victims at risk, says men’s charity’

An interesting new piece from Glen Poole at InsideMAN. We thank him for linking to our public challenge of Eleri Butler, Chief Executive of Welsh Women’s Aid, relating to lies in her organisation’s submission to the Welsh government. It’s good to see recognition given to Tony Stott of Healing Men, he’s been doing some excellent work challenging the Welsh government to take proper account of the needs of male victims of domestic violence.

  1. This is a hugely important issue . Because of Tony and others actually putting their views and facts forward , for once the DV “Industry ” has not had an unchallenged ride as it has sought to slide a VAWG law into the welsh assembly. In Scotland a “Gendered” definition is ensconced in Gov. Policy and AMIS is busy fighting the sexism in Scotland. The proposal to do the same in Wales takes it backwards and quite rightly groups in Wales and the UK have raised objections. Including J4MB.
Wales had made some progress in some areas and the proposal will take it way backwards. Any and all should do what they can to make it clear that this will not go un challenged.
