Dawn Pinchen, 40, benefits cheat who received £35,000 by claiming she couldn’t even walk a car length, caught after being spotted on Facebook walking along the Great Wall of China. Her punishment? The usual.

Dawn Pinchen, 40, fraudulently claimed over £35,000 in the space of little more than five years. A female judge gave her a suspended sentence. What are the chances? That said, male judges are even worse in not making women accountable for their crimes.

She’s being allowed to pay back the £35,000 at the rate of £18.25 per week. Presumably the sum won’t rise with inflation, so paying it back will (in theory, anyway) take her to almost to her 77th birthday. Yeah, that’s going to happen.

A sizeable majority of students who fail to pay back their student loans are women, because they don’t earn enough over their ‘careers’ despite having ‘degrees’ in fashion and other intellectually rigorous subjects.

Hmm… is there maybe a pattern to all this?

  1. I think it was Margaret Thatcher who once said, “the problem with socialism is eventually you run out of other peoples money”. Well, we can now update that to be the problem with “the welfare state”.
