Brendan O’Neill: ‘The hysteria over trolls is a classic moral panic’

My thanks to GM for pointing me to a timely and strong piece by Brendan O’Neill for the online publication he edits, Spiked:

Brendan wrote another piece we posted not long ago, ‘John Locke v Harriet Harman’. John Locke won, you’ll be relieved to learn.

  1. When you say “John Locke won” I assume you mean Harriet Harpy’s plans to “close the loophole” that is essentially freedom of association have been rejected? Please tell me that is true.

      • You would think an enlightened thinker would win wouldn’t you? But I don’t consider feminism to be an enlightened movement. Maybe it was in the ’60s but it’s now dogmatic, like a religion and we all remember when religion opened enlightenment with open arms…

      • I agree. True to its Marxist roots, feminism is a Godless religion, with feminists the supreme beings, who must be worshipped. Adherents hold to the ‘the one true faith’ no matter how many facts you throw at them proving what they believe to be true is DEMONSTRABLY wrong. I can’t recall having even one rational argument with a militant / gender feminist in the four years I’ve been engaged with feminism and its consequences full-time. Feminists genuinely see any challenging as being a sign of misogyny. Saves them from engaging their brains, I guess. In my book ‘Feminism: the ugly truth’ I wrote a chapter titles, ‘Are feminists less intelligent than normal women?’ It’s one of the shortest chapters in the book.

      • Like I posted yesterday, Lewis’ Law says

The comments on any article concerning feminism justify feminism

How’s that for dodging the proverbial bullet. You can’t criticise what we do because by criticising us you justify.our purpose.
