Our website Campaign for Merit in Business was created in the light of the considerable evidence of a causal link between increasing gender diversity on boards and corporate financial decline. Mike Buchanan, Steve Moxon and Dr Catherine Hakim (the originator of Preference Theory) presented evidence to House of Commons and House of Lords inquiries in 2012, the video of their House of Commons evidence session is here (56:50).

Our thanks to Mike Buchanan for this on Times Radio a weeks ago, Peter Hitchens on Prince Andrew: The King has failed to observe the presumption of innocence, (video,15:45). He writes:

“The treatment of Prince Andrew by King Charles III and the mainstream media has been utterly scandalous.

There is no evidence to prove beyond reasonable doubt that Prince Andrew – third in line to the throne in 2001, after Prince Charles and Prince William – ever met Virginia Giuffre. Even if what she later claimed was true – that they had sex in London when she was 17 – he would have committed no crime under UK law, and even if he recalled the matter, his denial would have been perfectly understandable. One of the reasons men pay highly for sex with prostitutes is that they go away afterwards.

It is claimed that the infamous photograph was taken on a disposable camera and had an imprint from the photo processing lab that read: “000 #15 13Mar01 Walgreens One Hour Photo”. This allegedly indicated the photo was developed on March 13, 2001, near Virginia Giuffre’s Florida home after she returned from London.

A number of possible explanations occur to me. One is that the photograph is genuine, and that Prince Andrew naively agreed to pose with the 17-year-old prostitute, presumably accepting her assurance that she wouldn’t share it with anyone. But even if that was what happened, and they had sex, he would have committed no crime under UK law.

The other possibility is that the Walgreens imprint was faked in order to back up Giuffre’s story of having met the Prince. Given the potential value of the image – Prince Andrews’s eventual payout to Giuffre was in the order of millions of pounds – the cost of faking the imprint would surely have been utterly trivial by comparison.

Prince Andrew should have been presumed innocent from the outset. If the poor man takes his own life, his blood will be on King Charles’s hands.”

“Nothing new in a story of a woman getting a “suspended” sentence. However going on we read this is part of an actual “crackdown” on benefit fraud. And the people being caught in the crackdown are women. In fact this should not surprise because of course women form the majority of welfare benefit claimants and probably are the majority of those committing fraud.

At school my daughter’s best friend’s parents worked for the then benefits agency and often had “funny stories” of checking visits to “single mothers” where there were lots of clues that there was in fact an adult male living there too. Of course I was interested why this form of fraud wasn’t prosecuted, the answer being that there was no senior “will” because of the negative image of a parade of “mums” going through the courts. Their opinion from their experience was that this form of fraud, claiming to be a single mum while in fact having a partner, was the most widespread fraud. So the NI minister Gordon Lyons is being very brave backing this crackdown.”

We’ve just had an email from Mike Buchanan, enjoying himself in Thailand at the moment at the XY Crew Jamboree, asking us to thank Eli for a terrific video (18:22) from Sargon, published two weeks ago. At 6:17 Sargon references a famous (infamous?)  Daily Mail article by Samantha Brick – he believes it was published in 2011, I’m not sure of the year – relating the hilarious disaster of the all-women production company she created.

Now here’s an interesting thing. Not only does a Google search no longer lead to the original article – do let us know if you can track it down – but the hilarious line-by-line commentary video by 6oodfella has disappeared, too. It previously appeared on the comedy channel of our Laughing at Feminists website.
