An interesting piece in yesterday’s Times (£). An extract:

“The justice secretary has repeatedly suggested that 60 per cent of victims are pulling out of cases because of delays in the court system. However, the true statistics show the vast majority of rapes reported are abandoned long before a charge is brought, due to factors such as policing delays. The number of victims withdrawing post-charge is 8 per cent.”

Our website Campaign for Merit in Business was created in the light of the considerable evidence of a causal link between increasing gender diversity on boards and corporate financial decline. Mike Buchanan, Steve Moxon and Dr Catherine Hakim (the originator of Preference Theory) presented evidence to House of Commons and House of Lords inquiries in 2012, the video of their House of Commons evidence session is here (56:50).

Interesting. Performing MGM is, as we have repeated countless times over the years, implicitly a criminal offence under the Offences Against the Person Act 1861, as is FGM. But FGM was made specifically illegal through legislation in the mid 1980s. It is difficult to think of a more scandalous sex-based double standard.
