Our thanks to Nigel for this. The end of the piece:
“Mr Evans [J4MB: defence lawyer] said that Yawson had found the stress of the proceedings, combined with having a newborn child, “very difficult”.
Judge Mark Weekes ordered her to pay £1,000, carry out 150 hours of unpaid work and 15 hours of a rehabilitation requirement.”
The bottom line? The woman stole £100,000 that could have gone to supporting homeless people (mainly men) and food banks and has to pay back… er… £1,000. If that’s an appropriate punishment, I’m a bluefin tuna.
Nigel writes:
“And up pops another “suspended” sentence. Of course it had to be because how can we close women’s prisons otherwise? Of course a “mum” and black … well no wonder the Police were a bit off and on in their investigation. “Intersectionality” don’t you know.”
