Sir Keir Starmer and identity politics

It appears Starmer is attempting to survive by branding himself a working-class prime minister. He has spoken countless times of his pride that his father was a toolmaker (video, 10:09), of course implying thereby that he himself is a tool (in English slang, a penis).

Yesterday the Telegraph published a piece Starmer: I’m a working class Prime Minister. From a speech yesterday in Hertfordshire:

“He said: “It is utter nonsense to suggest that everybody gets a fair chance in life, utter nonsense. I feel very strongly about this.

“I’m in that Cabinet as Prime Minister, having come from a working class background to be Prime Minister of this country. But that’s the exception, that is not the rule.” “

Let’s analyse that statement. On the one hand he’s pointing out he DID get a ‘fair chance in life’, having attained high offices despite coming from a working class background, while claiming it’s ‘utter nonsense to suggest that everybody gets a fair chance in life’. Then he’s implying it should be the ‘rule’ that people from such backgrounds reach such heights, despite how mathematically absurd that is. From what background is it the norm, or ever was, or could ever be? From no background. This is simply the politics of envy.

How I loathe the man and his obsession with identity politics. With every fibre of my being I wish him gone even though his successor – probably after the local elections meltdown in May – will almost certainly be markedly more left-wing.
