Andy Burnham may be blocked from standing in any forthcoming by-election by gender balance concerns

Our thanks to Jeff for this. An extract:

“Labour introduced All Women Shortlists to British politics under Tony Blair, but in recent years they fell into abeyance as the party gained more female MPs. In the 2024 general election, Labour didn’t use any All Women Shortlists because by the end of the last parliament, the Parliamentary Labour Party was majority women. [J4MB emphasis: So where were the All Men Shortlists?] Since the landslide result at the general election, that has changed. The PLP is now 54 per cent male to 46 per cent female. If a female MP stands down, creating a vacancy, it would be almost inconceivable for the party not to select a female candidate to replace them, an NEC source claimed.”

BBC Woman Sour: Laura Perrins slays Jane Garvey, presenter, and three other feminists on Woman Sour (2016). File #142 of 800+ files on the J4MB YouTube channel.

Today’s file is here (14:45).

Over a period of more than two years we’re posting links to one video daily from the J4MB YouTube channel. The channel includes our media appearances since 2012, 300+ videos of talks and other materials from the International Conferences on Men’s Issues (2014 – ) and other men’s issues conferences we’ve been involved with, and so much more. The individual conference playlists are here.

Our website Campaign for Merit in Business was created in the light of the considerable evidence of a causal link between increasing gender diversity on boards and corporate financial decline. Mike Buchanan, Steve Moxon and Dr Catherine Hakim (the originator of Preference Theory) presented evidence to House of Commons and House of Lords inquiries in 2012, the video of their House of Commons evidence session is here (56:50).

Finally, we run the award-winning website Laughing at Feminists. The related comedy channel (170+ videos) is here. Remember, it’s more than important to laugh at feminists, it’s a civic duty.

VilarVoice

Our thanks to Carl for alerting us to what appears to be a Substack channel launched six days ago, VilarVoice.

Esther Vilar was, of course, the German-American authoress who wrote a short but extraordinary book published in 1971 – 54 years ago! – The Manipulated Man. The English language edition hasn’t been available to buy from Amazon for a few years, but other online retailers sell it.

Terrance Popp joins Pearl Davies for a discussion on male suicide and more

The legendary Terrence Popp runs the channel Redonkulas.com. A former US Army Ranger, he fought in three wars and was nearly killed in two of them. He spoke at ICMI14, the first ICMI, near Detroit. His speech is here (45:54).

Terrence came close to committing suicide as a result of the brutal treatment he received at the hands of his wife and the American family courts system. He set a date to self-delete – his term for suicide – with a firearm but decided against it following the self-deletion of a former colleague who spent half the previous day with him, when Terrence didn’t spot the warning signs. Terrence arranged the funeral and came to appreciate the consequences of suicide to those left behind, and decided not to self-delete.

Fot some time the Poppster has focused on saving men who are close to self-deletion. His current tally is 575 lives saved. We applaud this fine man.

Our thanks to Sean for pointing us to a Youtube video (1:53:28) with Pearl Davies, published yesterday. Enjoy.
