Lindsey Still, 48, with 61 previous convictions, attacked shopkeepers attempting to stop thief. Avoids jail because vagina.

Our thanks to Jeff for this (Telegraph, £). Still faced 26 weeks in prison under sentencing guidelines. She had 61 previous convictions. An extract:

Sentencing Still, Wendy Steel JP said: “We are concerned that you need to be wary of situations where alcohol is concerned because that clearly aggravates the situation considerably.

“We hope that you take this opportunity to see that the court has been sympathetic and probably won’t be as sympathetic in the future.” [J4MB: That’s no way to speak to a lady! Brutal. The possibility – let alone a laughable ‘probability’ – of a court incarcerating Ms Still if she reaches a total of 63 convictions (as she surely will) may not be keeping her awake at night.]

SCOTLAND: Rose Docherty, 75, grandmother, led into police van and arrested after holding ‘here to talk’ sign outside hospital.

Scandalous. Rose Docherty was held in custody for several hours. She was refused a chair in her cell, despite telling police she had a double hip replacement.

Margaret Thatcher

In yesterday’s Telegraph there’s a wonderful interview (£) with short videos of Charles Moore, titled Charles Moore: In many ways Thatcher was dislikeable. But I did love her.

Mrs Thatcher was the prime minister over 1979-90, and in my view (and in the views of most large-C and small-c conservatives, I’d say) the greatest PM since Winston Churchill. I voted for the Tories in 1979 (my first opportunity to vote, at 21) and at the next two general elections she won in 1983 and 1987. What wonderful years they were for so many.

Charles Moore was selected by Mrs T as her official biographer, and wrote three lengthy but impressive books spanning her life – Not for Turning (784pp, used copies from £2.24, Kindle £6.99), Everything She Wants (741pp, used copies from £1.68, Kindle £8.99), Herself Alone (1,029pp, used copies from £7.50, Kindle £12.99).

The books have been edited into a single volume (1,104 pp), and recently published in hardcover (£33.97) and ebook editions (including Kindle, £21.99) – here. Doubtless a more modestly priced paperback will be available before long.

What a dismal party the Conservatives have become, over many years (particularly since David Cameron became party leader). I almost regret the consulting assignment I undertook over 2006-8 (Cameron had become the party leader in 2005, the party was in opposition) during which I developed a new conference model and related contracts, which resulted in £11.5 million falling into the party’s coffers over the five ensuing years. David Cameron revealed in his autobiography that the income stream was the leading income stream during his term in office.

I firmly believe (and hope) that our next government will be a Reform UK government led by Nigel Farage. Hopefully we won’t have to wait until 2029 for the general election that will bring that about. I’m increasingly of the view that Two-Tier Kier will be gone shortly after the May 2026 local elections, if not before.

Today’s file is here (18:08).

Over a period of more than two years we’re posting links to one video daily from the J4MB YouTube channel. The channel includes our media appearances since 2012, 300+ videos of talks and other materials from the International Conferences on Men’s Issues (2014 – ) and other men’s issues conferences we’ve been involved with, and so much more. Our website Campaign for Merit in Business was created in the light of the considerable evidence of a causal link between increasing gender diversity on boards and corporate financial decline. New figures reveal thousands of police officers on mental health leave as federation warns number of officers off work could be ‘far bigger’

Interesting. We can reliably assume, I think, that women constitute a disproportionate number of the police officers on “mental health leave”, possibly a clear majority, depending on the gender balance of the force today.

Southampton memorial for parents stopped from seeing kids

Interesting. An extract:

“Simon Cobb of PAPA, which stands for People Against Parental Alienation, invited families to lay flowers to honour lost loved ones who have committed suicide while going through the family court process.

Simon, who was carrying a sign that said “say no to the death penalty”, said that PAPA aims to stop “loving parents” from being “unjustly stopped” from seeing their children while going through family court.

He said: “Because this process is often slow and inconsistent, you get a situation where parents have to go through months and years without seeing their children, which is pretty much grieving somebody that’s still alive.

“I’ve been made aware of hundreds of people who have committed suicide. There isn’t statistics kept on this, but I would say the national statistic would be in the thousands for a year.” “

By “parents” and “people”, of course, he means overwhelmingly “fathers”.
