Bless her, she’s not going to be Children’s Commissioner for much longer! A decade ago my daughter embarked on a teaching degree. Imagining she’d be learning about child development, teaching and learning styles, behaviour management the sorts of things often called “pedagogy” abroad. Eventually changed course and direction as she found little content about children and their learning and development nor skills for teaching and managing classes of pupils. But a lot about “policy” and “social issues”. It is no surprise the “profession” has little interest in the actual teaching of children. I’m sure lessons about Andrew Tate will prove very useful ….. to the Tate brothers whose notoriety with every British school child, courtesy of their schools, seems bound to fill their coffers one way or another like the Kardashians.
By the way a retired teacher friend who did see “Adolescence” observed it wouldn’t be a good idea to show it in schools as it depicts the school as out of control and the teachers as “utterly useless”. As Scottish education has slid from renowned to a basket case so too it seems is the destiny of all the UK.

Same in the United States. Which is one of the reasons why the Department of Education needs to be abolished and the responsibility given to the States!
