  2. In the context of Connor’s experiences of being punished as a schoolboy, as he says he rarely saw a girl so punished. The “gendered” nature of punishment in schools ( disproportionately boys) is slid over in this report which points out the extent White working-class schoolchildren punished more than any other group And as with the poor results it is a fact that its “white working class” boys who get excluded. Just as its they who get “diagnosed” with ADHD and other “conduct disorders”. All in all results and exclusions both telling the same story … whatever is being done in education its pretty clear its not working for white working class boys.
