Jeremy Clarkson interview: ‘In the past 20 years Britain has fallen off a cliff’

Enjoy (Telegraph, £). The American buyout firm RedBird has agreed a deal to take control of the Daily and Sunday Telegraph after a two-year ownership vacuum, details here.

An extract from the article:

“Any rambler might catch a view of the cast of Clarkson’s Farm, the enormous Lamborghini tractors, or the sign, posted high on a shed wall: anyone found dropping litter will be shot in the face!”

Clarkson’s Farm may be my favourite TV series ever. The first four episodes of the new series (#4) is now available to watch free of charge to Amazon Prime customers. The official trailer is here (2:39).

In a recent interview Clarkson said that he was amazed at how many Chinese fans the show has, and some visit his farm. He recently asked some Chinese visitors why they loved the show so much, and was told, “It’s because you’re so incompetent!” His incompetence is indeed one of the golden threads running through the programme.

Chemical castration

Our thanks to Warren for an email which takes up the remainder of this blog piece:

“Saw this proposal from Shabana Mahmood in this morning’s papers, and meant to contact you about it then. By this evening, it has its own BBC article. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/crmkv3jezzdo

It’s interesting that Ms Mahmood’s words repeat the same old tired phrase of ‘power & control’, taken from the (discredited) Duluth Model.

As we know, much of feminist ‘theory’ like Duluth is actually a projection of how their own minds work. And would be hard pressed to think of a more viable explanation than a desire for ‘power & control’ for the wave of assaults on underage boys by female teachers, this article being the tip of an iceberg. https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/women-teachers-who-prey-pupils-29207181

Of course, Ms Mahmood will be doing everything in her power to keep these women out of prison. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/shabana-mahmood-labour-prison-women-close-b2618123.html

Will she be using chemical means to keep them out of prison, prevent their re-offending, and curb their desire for ‘power & control’? I rather think not.

Has Ms Mahmood no idea that (at least) 15% of the men serving sentences for such crimes shouldn’t be there. https://www.jstor.org/stable/4509177

In fact, has the woman never heard of Andy Malkinson, whose conviction was presumed to be ‘safe’? At least, it was considered as such by the woman who used to run the Criminal Cases Review Board. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c5yewwrgd5zo

The ladies are running amok.”

Annie Gordon Baillie, the Victorian scam artist who duped an island (Skye)

Surprising to find this on the BBC, but the BBC series Lady Swindlers is presented by the feminist Lucy Worsley, 51, who also presented Lady Killers. Criminals are admirable when they’re female, it seems.

UK signs deal to hand over Chagos Islands and lease back military base for £101m a year

Keir Starmer today committed an act of high treason. The Wikipedia page on high treason in the UK is here. An extract:

“Subsequent to the Judgement of Death Act 1823, it was the only crime other than murder for which a death sentence was mandatory. Since the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 became law, the maximum sentence for treason in the UK has been life imprisonment.”

Sighing at a colleague in frustration could be discriminatory, tribunal rules

Interesting. An extract:

“Sighing at a colleague at work in frustration could breach equality laws, an employment tribunal has ruled. Nonverbal expressions of disappointment or irritation could amount to discrimination, a judge said.

The ruling came in the case of a UK software engineer with ADHD who successfully sued a tech company for disability discrimination after complaining about his manager’s sighing and exaggerated exhales.

Robert Watson is now in line for compensation from Roke Manor Research, the inventors of the Hawk-Eye ball tracking system used at Wimbledon, in international cricket and in football.”

I assume his manager’s “sighing and exaggerated exhales” mean the person is probably of the female persuasion, amirite?
