An interesting piece on the BBC. Why, you might well ask, does the BBC headline state ‘offensive’ Zionism post rather than… er… offensive Zionism post? I watch the international BBC News every day, and its coverage of Israel and Gaza would delight those who would destroy Israel, a democratic nation surrounded by autocratic (and theocratic) Muslim states. Hamas propaganda is reported by the BBC as deeply truthful at every turn, while Israeli narratives are sneered at.
An extract from the BBC piece:
“The Campaign Against Antisemitism has called for Lineker to be sacked, saying: “The BBC has turned a blind eye for too long, it is long past time for him to go, and he must go now.”
Phil Rosenberg, president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, [J4MB: We’ve added the hyperlink, obviously the BBC would never do so} said the presenter’s “empty and belated apology is the first after years of baiting the Jewish community, just as levels of antisemitism soar”.
“His use of social media has been unacceptable for too long,” he added. “It is high time that the licence-fee payer ceases to be obliged to subsidise and amplify his bile.” “
Amen to that.
