A piece in an online Wrexham news website. Extracts:
“A Wrexham business leader is calling for more women to take on leadership roles in the automotive sector, after being “shocked” by the industry’s lack of diversity.
Laura Hall, managing director of Maverick Diagnostics in Holt, is a member of the Automotive 30% Club [J4MB emphasis: This alone shows Ms. Hall is sexist] – a national campaign group working to increase the number of women in senior positions across the industry…
Ms Hall, whose background is in the oil and gas industry, said she was struck by the gender imbalance in automotive soon after joining the sector.
“Quite early on I had gone to some industry event and the gender imbalance was shocking, there were so few women. The aftermarket industry is particularly bad,” she said. [J4MB: Very odd, given how many women must dream of senior positions in the automotive aftermarket industry…].
“I went to some trade events early on and I was horrified, not only because there were very few women, but there was no real diversity whatsoever – it was all middle-aged white men.” [J4MB emphasis: Ms. Hall reveals herself to be ageist, racist and sexist.]
Given the long-established causal link between increasing gender diversity on boards and corporate financial decline, the proper response to Ms. Hall’s campaign “to increase the number of women in senior positions across the industry” would be to laugh in her face. Sadly, few men (or women) will do that, so we get an endless stream of gormless harpies such as Ms. Hall getting media coverage for their idiotic statements.
I’ve sent the paper an email, asking if it’s their policy to provide a platform to ageist, racist sexists, also sending the email to the only email address I could find on her company’s website, that of the sales department.

Justice for Men & Boys 
Of course the 30% isn’t a target for people entering the sector at the bottom, the bits where you may have to wear overalls, get dirty or smell of oil. For after 40 years of failed attempts to get women to work in these industries even she will know its a lost cause. Which means of course sales and administrative jobs and fast tracking females from these into the supposed “gap” in “senior roles”. Not anything where you might have to get dirty . As always the wildly over used “amazing” is applied to any female in the business. As for the lack of “diversity” in general, is she new to Wrexham? That part of north Wales and neighbouring Cheshire and Shropshire is very “white” indeed. It would be “amazing” to find anyone “diverse” in any industry.
