Great News . As a principle I’m not in favour of “identity politics” but until the steamroller of “gender equality” is turned towards the “gender” that in fact loses out the most there is no incentive on the part of the feminists to actually live up to their claim to support Equality rather than their actual gynocentrism in all things. I hope eventually such initiatives as this come here. It is only fair if the goals are Equality and “representation” to attend to the many occupations that men are underrepresented.
Not that these will always be “solved” however because men and women do show different patterns en masse. As shown by this example of “Preference Theory” The workers flocking to public sector jobs for better pensions The public sector is entirely unrepresentative of the general population because it is well over 70% female and the story shows it is because it is secure employment with lots of time off, “family friendly” work patterns and secure pensions, and generally low risk administrative tasks. The males tending to be in the high risk occupations with anti social work patterns (Police, Fire and, as we have recently re-discovered, “bin men” and so on) So even though all will benefit from secure and generous pensions (and sickness, parental leave and other entitlements) women prioritising their preferences will probably continue to “dominate”.
Overall just employing the people who apply and meet the requirements for jobs, higher education etc. would be best and accepting that equal opportunities are all we can actually guarantee without the levels of coercion seen in the communist world were you were simply allocated a job by the all controlling state.
