Good news. Extracts:
A lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs and Jay-Z, which alleged the rape of a 13-year-old girl in 2000, has been dismissed, according to a legal filing submitted on Friday in New York. The attorney representing the anonymous plaintiff, referred to as Jane Doe, voluntarily withdrew the case, court records show…
Jay-Z strongly denied the allegations, claiming that his attorney had been sent “blackmail” in an attempt to force a settlement. He said the attempt had the “opposite effect” and instead motivated him to publicly challenge the accusations.
In December, Jane Doe gave an interview that raised questions about her credibility. She admitted that “not all the facts are clear” and stated, “I have made some mistakes. I may have made a mistake in identifying.” [J4MB emphasis.]

This, as in so many cases in the US, was a civil case. The media rarely make this clear. No doubt wishing to make the most sensational headlines. If it was made clear then it would make one much more skeptical about the motives. For if a crime had been committed why isn’t there a criminal prosecution? Often in the details one finds either that it has never been reported to Police, or been investigated and dropped (as for instance in the Prince Andrew case). In the civil case the “complainant” can rely on the negative publicity and gynocentric assumption of no smoke without fire to leverage a “settlement” out of court (as in the case of Prince Andrew).Indeed the only punishment in a civil case is money in the form of damages. I mention the Princes’s case because his accuser was subsequently found to be a serial liar in a case the “defendant” decided to fight the civil suit rather than pay out.
