for many years Rwanda topped the Gender Equality index referred to. The reason was that the Genocide of the early 90s and subsequent regional wars had killed a large % of the male population. The genocide itself has targeted young man and adult males and of course the regional fighting also killed soldiers males. Meaning that women perforce had had to take all sorts of roles and the life expectancy of males was very low indeed. As the this author points outs there is something rather sick in an index that regards it a good thing to massacre males and celebrate shortening lives. As he points out Ukraine is rising in the index because the current war has a high casualty rate amongst the military while women and girls simply left for safety. So Ukrainian males have a lowering life expectancy, hooray!

If only there was a Elon Musk like appointment from the USA to the UN. He could tell them to use this index and dump the one that simply ignores inequalities that males experience.
