Abortion was the leading cause of death worldwide in 2024, killing 73 million people. All other causes of death combined, 67 million.

Tragic.

Nearly 20% of all pregnancies in the USA (excluding miscarriages) end in abortion.

In the UK, for every woman killed by a man, 2,000+ unborn children are killed at the behest of their mothers.

Elon Musk says Jess Phillips deserves to be in prison. A good point, well made.

Interesting (Spectator, £). Related tweets here. Phillips is the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Safeguarding and Violence Against Women and Girls.

Not long after becoming an MP in 2015, she infamously tried (but thankfully failed) to deny Philip Davies (C, Shipley) the opportunity to host the first debate in the House of Commons to commemorate International Men’s Day. The video of the meeting with her intervention – and Philip’s tenacious responses – is on our YouTube channel here (10:33). She has been known to laugh at the notion of male victims of domestic violence.

UNITED STATES: Gender selection in IVF and adoption

Our thanks to Nigel for this latest piece (video, 10:16) by Alexander Grace. Nigel writes:

“This is interesting. Grace points out the contrast between FGM and MGM but what’s particularly interested me, as an economist, were the indicators in fertility treatment and adoption and fostering. The comparatively free market in the US produces the stats that the money paid for fertility treatments is to secure girl babies and adoptive parents are willing to spend $16,000 more to adopt a girl. I note that this sort of data is now hidden in the USA. To be frank, I think that data on how people spend their money is a better indicator of the reality of gender bias, rather than what people say. And in the USA it’s pretty clear boys are valued far less than girls. In this country it’s less easy to get such clear data. However the effect is clear with far fewer boys being adopted or fostered and consequently far more being cared for in temporary foster homes or institutions …. and quite a few accounting for the rough sleeping and prison populations.”

Finnair Operates All-Male Crew Flight to Mark International Men’s Day

A piece published on International Men’s Day, 19 November. An extract:

The company [Finnair] highlighted the importance of reflecting on the values, character, and responsibilities of being a man and passing these on to future generations. “Currently, only about 10% of our cabin crew are male, but we hope to see that number grow in the future,” Finnair stated in the post, accompanied by a message celebrating this significant day.
