UNITED STATES: Natalie Lynn Rupnow, 15, shoots dead a teacher and student and then herself

Our thanks to Eli for this. An extract:

“A purported ‘sneak peek’ of her manifesto was posted on her Discord account, where she discussed a desire to kill all males [J4MB emphasis] in a rant inspired by fringe extremist online culture.”

Victoria Thomas Bowen, 25, given suspended sentence after throwing milkshake over Nigel Farage

Our thanks to Jeff for this predictable news. Her “punishment” will be no deterrent to people tempted to do the same in future to our next prime minister.

Margaret Thatcher: The Autobiography

I’m one of many millions of people who consider Margaret Thatcher to have been the finest peacetime prime minister of the UK (1979-1990), at least since WW2. Somewhat belatedly, I’ve started reading her autobiography, published shortly after her death in 2013. I’m reading it on Kindle (£4.99), hardbacks and paperbacks are available, as well as an Audible audiobook (£7.99) read by Mrs T herself.

The book bring together her bestselling memoirs The Downing Street Years: The compelling autobiography from a political icon (1993) and The Path to Power (1995).

First female chancellor Rachel Reeves reveals she is stuck with a urinal in her office toilet

Enjoy. A “problem” created by allowing a woman to hold the position of chancellor, but hopefully not for long. The economy has been tanking under her watch, what are the chances? From her Wikipedia page:

“In October 2023, Reeves’ book The Women Who Made Modern Economics was published. The Guardian said the book contained “something much more like the outlines of a coherent political project … than Labour is sometimes credited with”. The Financial Times reported that the book “lifted” content from Wikipedia, The Guardian and other sources, identifying over twenty examples of apparent plagiarism [J4MB translation – plagiarism] in the book, including entire paragraphs. Reeves told BBC News that some sentences “were not properly referenced” and this would be corrected in future reprints.”

Schrödinger’s Feminism

Our thanks to Sean for this:

“Schrödinger’s Feminism: A woman is simultaneously a victim and empowered, until something happens. Then she chooses which state benefits her the most.”

Originally from @TurtleChad1, I believe.

Stalker Sarah Scott, 41, who threatened boyfriend and his ex, jailed

Our thanks to Ken for this. The start of the piece:

“A convicted stalker who repeatedly threatened to kill her ex-boyfriend’s former partner has been jailed.

Sarah Scott, 41, said she was “dreaming of snapping” the woman’s neck and that a “15-year sentence” would be “worth it for her not be on this earth”, Leeds Crown Court heard.

Scott, of Corbett Drive in Wakefield, also threatened to make a false rape allegation against her ex, to whom she pleaded guilty to harassing earlier this year.

The woman subjected to the threats, who had never previously met or spoken to Scott, told the BBC she had been through “eight months of hell”.

At a sentencing hearing on Friday, it was said that Scott had a history of similar offences against other ex-partners.”

The woman was jailed for only 30 weeks.
