Interesting (Telegraph, £). I have a lifetime ban from commenting on Telegraph articles – not quite sure why, maybe the decision was made by a 300+ kg blue-haired lesbian feminist in 13XL dungarees – but the paper’s readers are even more anti-Tory and pro-Reform UK than readers of The Times, judging by their comments on articles. Which bodes well for a Reform UK government in 2029, or earlier.
Anyway, the heart of the story is that a quarter of council tax revenues are used to pay pensions. Nigel Farage has said this on the issue:
“We now have pensions apartheid between the private sector and public sector. There is a massive, massive gulf. They’re Ponzi schemes, all of them.”
Good points, well made, Nigel.
