Mims Davies MP – shadow minister for women and equalities, chair of the APPG on Men’s and Boys’ Issues. Conflict of interest, much?

Mims Davies MP (C, East Grinstead and Uckfield) is the shadow minister for women and equalities. Kemi Badenoch MP, the current Tory party leader, held the post of minister for women and equalities for almost two years, until the recent general election.

It would be fair to say that the two posts are indicative of successive governments’ pro-female / anti-male bias for the past 41 years (of course the bias existed well before that). It is for this reason I hold out little hope of there ever being a Minister for Men, despite the sterling efforts of some MRAs in that direction.

Mims Davies is currently the chair of the all-party parliamentary group (APPG) on Men’s and Boys’ Issues. It would be difficult to imagine a greater conflict of interest than her roles as shadow minister for women and equalities, and the chairmanship of the APPG. The appalling Baroness Helena Morrissey – founder of the 30% Club – is also a member of the APPG.

International Men’s Day debate

Sam Rushworth MP (L, Bishop Auckland) is one of three vice-chairs on the all-party parliamentary group (APPG) on Men’s and Boys’ Issues. Two days ago he applied to the Backbench Business Committee for permission to host a debate commemorating International Men’s Day – video (start – 16:23:10). The request was accepted, and the debate (in the chamber of the House of Commons) will be held next Thursday, 21 November, the nearest date available to International Men’s Day (19 November).

Australia: “Child sexual abuse by women is on the rise. We don’t have the support services to cope.”

The issue of sexual abuse was the subject of the longest section of our final manifesto, pp. 51-7. An extract:

“This culture leads to inequalities. Few women are held accountable for sex offences, including those women who sexually abuse children. It’s known from a major American survey (details below) that slightly over 25% of sex offences are committed by women against men, with no male accomplices. We would therefore expect the male/female ratio of people charged with sex offences to be a little under 3:1. In the UK, in 2013, the ratio was 146:1.”

An interesting piece in The Conversation by four female academics at the University of the Sunshine Coast, Australia. The start of the piece:

“Sexual offending perpetrated by females is probably much more common than people think.

In Australia, we have seen an almost 208% increase in the number of women in the criminal justice system for sexual offences from 2008 to 2023. [J4MB: Surely an indicator of the CJS holding female abusers even less accountable in 2008 than in 2023.]

Research in the United States has found that on average, almost 8% of verified cases of sexual abuse across the nation had a female perpetrator. This figure ranges from 1% to more than 36% across the different states. [J4MB: Can anyone really imagine this range is indicative of the reality across the states? Surely not. It’s not unreasonable to assume that 36% is nearer the reality across all states.]

While women make up a small minority of people who sexually offend, there are minimal offence-specific rehabilitative programs for these women in Australia. [J4MB: The academics decline to reveal the blindingly obvious reason why this is the case, namely the nefarious influence of feminists.] To prevent harm to children, this needs to change.”

Nigel Farage claims ‘Establishment’ banned Reform UK from laying Cenotaph wreath

Shameful. The start of the GB News piece:

“Nigel Farage has blamed “the Establishment” for not allowing him to take a public facing-role with other party leaders at the National Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph today.

Farage, as leader of Reform UK, was forced to watch proceedings from a balcony on Whitehall along with Green Party co-leader Carla Denyer and some representatives from Quebec in Canada.

Farage said that Reform UK was told that it could not lay a wreath as the party only has five MPs in the House of Commons, below the threshold of six MPs needed to qualify for wreath laying.

However, Farage pointed out that Gavin Robinson, deputy leader of the DUP, laid a wreath.

The DUP has five MPs in Westminster, exactly the same number as Reform UK.”
