  1. Curiously the people named in the article, people who make the cheese, are all men. I expect all the amazing women in cheese were in fact English Lit. Graduates who buy cheese and have £50 to go to a tasting and talk about cheese making being “dominated” by men before returning to work in their offices or kitchens (on the laptop of course!). Cheesemaking is hard work, can be smelly and requires wearing unflattering outfits for hygiene reasons, particularly making it the old fashioned “artisan” way. Won’t be many women in cheese any time soon methinks.
