Good. Today while in my local supermarket there was another aspect of the problem. Close to an hospital and police station it is a popular stop for lunches and snacks. This day as my daughter and I were buying some treats for my wife in hospital we saw a couple of “bobbies” shopping, nothing unusual as I say. When first spotted the male policeman seemed a giant compared to his female companion, being three times her size. A little later at the checkout I realised he was in fact a couple of inches taller than me (I’m 5′ 8″) and his “partner” was really lilliputian. Given that most of their “customers” are young men it struck me the practical nonsense of this, illustrated in the recent (and local to me) Airport Incident where two teenager young men swatted off two female officers and laid into the one male officer. In their zeal to DEI all too often the purpose and function of crucial institutions gets lost. And the real losers are us, the public.
