  1. I’m certain that the same sorts of figures pertain to the UK. Of particular interest is the fact that women are the majority of consumers “Retail – Women account for 85%  of all purchases”. This is after all the driver for much of our media output. Huge swathes of which are funded by advertising of all forms of consumer goods and services. It is unsurprising, even without feminist influence, that much of our broadcast media as well as “socials” Tick tok etc. is flattering to women. For in order to attract the female consumer the advertisers will expect female friendly programming or “content”. Hence so much of our media output is flattering to women. It also means male viewers are discriminated against as much of their preferred content (Sport specially) is on services that require subscriptions. I’m sure if someone did some analysis of this it would show that men pay considerably more for a lot of their entertainment than women simply because they are so rarely the “purchasing decision maker” for goods and services (even if it is they who actually foot the bill). And it gives a powerful incentive for media companies to please women to attract such valuable consumers for their advertisers, influencing content.

    Doing a bit of research around this I was surprised to learn that 80% of the audience for the various “true crime” channels (lurid documentaries about murders and “serial” killers) is female!
