The interesting thing about this is that the report is in fact about an incident where the society held a meeting, after which people attending were attacked as they were trying to leave. A scenario familiar I think for MRAs. Then reported as if both “sides” were at fault. Again another feature familiar to MRAs.

Following the links in this article to those reporting on this student society and opposition to it, it is instructive to read the reasons for opposition to its existence. These are grouped in three ways; one that men shouldn’t have a say; another that it intensifies the feelings of guilt women who have had abortions feel and the most common that it makes women feel it is morally wrong. The last two are interesting because they are in fact wholly about the women’s feelings. That having someone remind them of the morality is deeply upsetting and intensifies their existing feelings. So in effect the “pro-life” society causes “pro-choice” (a classic euphemism) women and men to deal with their own feelings of immorality and guilt. Hence the vehemence of their opposition.
