In this country my experience of the way income and assets and income is decided is pretty arbitrary. A guiding principle seems to be to ensure the woman gets to continue the lifestyle “she has become accustomed” to. Hence the eye watering awards to the ex wives of businessmen and celebrities. I’m sure many of these would have been relieved at a calculation based on the minimum wage ! I expect the feminists will howl because they always claim “homemaking” is a job like a “CEO” and make similarly wildly inflated calculations of the lost earnings of being a wife and mother. Using the minimum wage here might be a step in the direction of ending the England’s status as the Divorce Capital of the world as ex wives of Oligarchs and Saudi Princes somehow get their divorces in this country , and are maintained in luxury as a result. Frankly in a Gynocentric society pitching women’s house and childcare at minimum wage is damage limitation!
