  1. Thank you for this. And well done to the Danes for making the simple statement that “equality” applies to men too. The Danish data mirrors that in the UK and no doubt the under reporting by men repeatedly reported by the ONS and other studies in the UK is similar in Denmark. Put in the jargon of the left men are therefore under represented in services and “under served”. Under the Equality Act they should therefore receive special attention to increase reporting and have “targeted” services because as a an under served group in this context measures can legally be made to put extra services on. In fact what happens is the absolute reverse, the under reporting is simply ignored, and the smaller numbers seeking services used as a reason to ignore even those! Men are in fact being treated unlawfully through direct and indirect sex discrimination. This is not a matter of “mens’ rights” but is about human and civil rights. Certainly in the UK the Gov. and Gov agencies are contravening the public services Equality Duty by not taking action to bring the level of reporting to the same level as for women, and provide special services for men who are ill served by a system explicitly designed for the under represented group. After all the smaller number of women going through the criminal justice system and in the Prison population, is taken as the reason to give so much special attention and favorable treatment to women! I say this not as a champion of the Equality Act but to point out the unlawful treatment of men under existing “equality”law.

  2. And well done DAVIA and J4MB for bringing such positive stories. Certainly in this country the feminist lobby in public services have very successfully acted to ensure that any alternative view to theirs is kept out of the way. In my experience most people given the “equality” or “diversity” portfolio usually are not at all knowledgeable in the area (not surprising as it includes race, belief, disability, mental health, sexual orientation and some tiny niche groups) and so rely heavily on “the usual suspects” for information. I wish the British were as quick to litigate (and had the deep pockets needed) as in the US because so much policy and activities are just plain illegal (as in the recent RAF recruitment scandal).
