‘Try stopping 50,000 people’: Defiant Welsh rugby fans insist they will keep singing banned favourite Delilah as star player Louis Rees-Zammit blasts scandal-hit bosses over decision

Absolute nonsense. The Welsh Rugby Union is trying to distract people from some recent feminists’ whines about sexism, misogyny, yawn, yawn, yawn, by banning the Welsh choir from singing the Tom Jones classic song Delilah before tomorrow’s game against Ireland in Cardiff. Apparently hatchet-faced feminists have taken exception to this line in the song:

I felt the knife in my hand and she laughed no more.

What sane person could possibly take exception to that line? It’s a mystery, all right!

The men at the WRU should squarely blame themselves for allowing women into the sport in the first place, with inevitable consequences. Women should organize their own damned sports without parasiting on the men’s games, that would be a good development.

This morning Jeremy Vine on his BBC Radio 2 show had a couple of callers to discuss the matter, turning first to the execrable Chief Exec of Welsh Women’s Aid (WWA), who was given several minutes to spout feminist drivel, unchallenged. She was followed by a (male) Welsh lawyer who made the point that if the choir didn’t sing Delilah, then the Welsh fans would. I’ll tune in to hear that!

In 2014 we publicly challenged Eleri Butler, then the Chief Exec of WWA, over lies in one of their submissions to the Welsh government – details here. Needless to say, she didn’t respond.

Also needless to say, the WWA website continues to trot out feminist myths. On this link there’s a section titled, “Why a focus on male violence against women?” This includes the following:

Violence and abuse can affect anyone, including men and boys. However the evidence shows that over 90%¹ of violence and abuse is experienced by women and girls at the hands of men.

The reference takes us to this gem:

The ONS 2020 reports that in year ending March 2020 that 92% of defendants in domestic abuse related  prosecutions were male. Further evidence from the Crown Prosecution Service shows the disproportionately gendered nature of these crimes.

WWA cannot be unaware that the gender balance in prosecutions isn’t representative of the gender balance in DV. We’ve known for a decade (since PASK13) that in heterosexual couples where one partner is always the perpetrator, it’s more than twice as likely to be the woman as the man. Not something you’ll ever learn from the BBC or indeed the rest of the mainstream media. Like all feminist organizations WWA is staffed by consummate liars.
