Our thanks to Groan for an appalling government press release with the usual BS about “structural barriers” (J4MB: In plain English, choices have consequences. And women do not “sacrifice” their careers, they willingly choose a less stressful and more satisfying alternative, looking after their children.]
The consequence of the government’s plans will be to promote and pay more to women who are less capable and experienced than their male peers, and as always patients be damned. It’s always the same when professions are feminised – the quality of output declines, while costs increase.
Three senior figures are cited in the document, all of them women. Groan writes:
More of the same about pay gaps. And more of the solutions, accelerated promotions, more part time and family friendly hours. And of course less actual service to patients. The real “gap” is the fact that we have to employ so many foreign doctors because we train too few doctors and those we do train all too frequently soon work part-time or have time out (many never coming back of course).
