Curb cash flow to the domestic abuse lobby

Excellent article in The Conservative Woman by Neil Lyndon, explaining why we should be celebrating recent domestic violence statistics – and suggesting that it’s corruption that’s stopping us…

Jail threat for publishing company of essay called I hate men, France

Last month, a tiny French publishing house, Monstrograph, published 80 page essay, Moi les hommes, je le deteste, by activist Pauline Harmange. The author defines the book as a “manifesto for misandry” and continues:

Feminists often treat misandry as a joke. I found it interesting to explain that we have good reason to reach that point… allegations of misandry are a… way of silencing the sometimes violent and always legitimate anger of the opressed towards their oppressors.”

Monstrograph subsequently received an email from Ralph Zurmely, a policy officer at the Ministry for Equality between Women and Men, saying:

This book is by all accounts… an ode to misandry (hatred of men). I would remind you that inciting hatred over gender is a criminal offence. I request you immediately withdraw this book from your catalogue under threat of criminal prosecution.”

The ministry, headed by Elisabeth Moreno, has distanced itself from the warning, insisting that Zurmely sent the email at his own initiative and not in the ministers name. Zurmely continues to argue that the text is not lawful and that:

If the publishers insist in selling this book, they directly become accomplices in the offence and I will find myself obliged to send the case to the prosecutors for criminal proceedings.”

The publishers claim that:

This book is not at all an incitement to hatred. The title is provocative but the argument is measured.”

Naturally, the controversy has boosted sales, prompting their quip:

This story shows that you cannot reduce anger to silence.”

I have no doubt that this book is a bitter and delusional screed – and I am also aware that justice should be blind and the author and publishers of I hate women, were that to be published in France, would likely be straight up for prosecution. However, the utility in legislating against hateful speech is not clear to me. Making bad ideas taboo does precious little to dispel them, making bad ideas illegal risks making potential martyrs out of people who (with a good blast of disinfectant-sunlight) would be mockeries. Anti-feminist ideas are gaining traction (as shown by YouGov and BuzzFeed and claimed recently by Laura Bates) – and I suspect that we can thank feminists more than anyone for this development.

Richard Curtis: Feminism is great news for men

A short and irritating interview from The Big Issue.

Excerpt:

“My daughter Scarlett is a feminist who wrote the book Feminists Don’t Wear Pink (And Other Lies). She interviewed all the kids in our neighborhood under 20. When she asked: Are you feminists all of them put their hands up.

“I think we may be heading for a generation to whom it’s much more natural to think about these issues. I am quite hopeful that the battle for equal rights is going to be fought more enthusiastically by both sides. And that men are going to listen a lot more.”

Richard Curtis’ neighbourhood appears to be Notting Hill… Which, while it’s a demographically diverse area, I still happen to wonder whether the kids in his direct vicinity are predominantly middle class children belonging to university-indoctrinated radically left wing parents. Speculations notwithstanding, I think it’s fair to say that feminists have raised such a cacophony in recent years – as well as fully encroaching on the education system that it will be much more natural for younger generations to consider feminism and equal rights. I happen to hope that these generations will have the scepticism and compassion to see through feminism and will, through alternative media sources, become aware of where the real sex equality issues lie. If indeed men do listen more, I sincerely hope it will be to honest commentators, to each other and with a critical and non-gynocentric perspective.

Between us, our eldest boy had a lesson on “diversity” in school today wherein their teacher explained that Emily Davison martyred herself under a horse “and then the politicians thought about it and gave women the vote”. Were it not for this being his second day in a new school, I’d be straight on the phone tomorrow – but instead I have instructed our boy to spread the truth to his new friends.

The United Nations goes full feminazi

In a tweet yesterday, the United Nations and the feminist propaganda machine at the heart of their operation have now stated that the COVID-19 pandemic is now sexist, with the Secretary General no less stating that:

The #COVID19 pandemic is demonstrating what we all know: millennia of patriarchy have resulted in a male-dominated world with a male-dominated culture which damages everyone – women, men, girls & boys.

In the linked article, they then go on to say:

The COVID-19 pandemic has in the past six months turned our world upside down. Beyond the virus itself, the response has had a disproportionate and devastating social and economic impact on women and girls.

As a man, I must admit I find this kind of thing quite hard to digest.  It gives you a sense of how much the feminist rot has set into this particular organisation.

Whilst I have no problem with acknowledging that everyone, including women and girls, have their own challenges to face during the pandemic, there is no acknowledgement in the UN’s remarks of any positive male contribution during the crisis such as the male doctors nursing COVID-19 patients back to health, no mention of the fact that men are dying at roughly double the rate of women, or possible male victims of DV.

Instead, blame is placed on “power” and a “male dominated” society as being somehow either being responsible for the pandemic, or making it worse.  I find this to be perverse, in the extreme.

The reaction on Twitter to the UN’s tweet was universally negative.  Perhaps, if you do happen to dwell on that cesspit called Twitter, you might do well to block them – if you want to keep your sanity.

Updates on the International Conference on Men’s Issues, and the Regarding Men weekly men-only video meetings

My thanks to Mike Buchanan, our former leader and the creator of the website Laughing at Feminists, for the following updates, they take up the remainder of this blog piece:

2020 International Conference on Men’s Issues (ICMI20)
Followers of this blog will be aware that ICMI2020 will be a virtual conference on account of Covid-19. Elizabeth Hobson and I are two of the key organizers of the event. We’re using the opportunity of a virtual conference to expand hugely the number of speakers (providers of videos). We plan to publish 120 videos (one per hour, every hour) from midday, Saturday, 14 November, to midday, Thursday, 19 November, 2020 (International Men’s Day), Sydney time (the event was originally going to be held in Sydney). The Guests of Honour include Dr Warren Farrell, Erin Pizzey and ManWomanMyth.

This conference is the first ICMI in which we’re extending an open invitation to those with an interest in gender matters (other than feminists, obviously) to submit materials, details here. [Update 19.9.20: We have 103 confirmed speakers already, the speaker names and their talk titles are here. The speakers’ page on the website is here.] We’re confirming new speakers every week, so if you’re thinking of contributing a video, contact Mike Buchanan (mike@j4mb.org.uk) asap.

Regarding Men weekly men-only video meetings
I recently had the pleasure of hosting the first two UK-based men-only video meetings on behalf of Regarding Men (Paul Elam, Professor Janice Fiamengo, Tom Golden). Attendees included men from the UK, Ireland, United States, Australia and India. They went very well, and I’m looking forward to hosting future meetings. They will be held on Sundays at 14:00, BST or GMT, whichever time zone is operating in the UK at the time. From the Regarding Men website:

Paul Elam, Janice Fiamengo, and Tom Golden have joined forces to create a platform to connect Red Pill men and provide them ongoing social support. We want to solve the dilemma of Red Pill Isolation by connecting like-minded men to each other, online and in the real world. Regarding Men is a place for men to speak truthfully about their lived experience and get support, without having to care about blue pill sensitivities.

We are making the meetings and other services available to Red Pill men across the world 7 days a week, 365 days a year. That is what your support is going to help us build. Join us now and let’s grow this thing together.

It costs $5.00 (about £4.00) per month to become a member and gain access to all the meetings and services available. I invite you to join, what do you have to lose? If you later decide it’s not for you, you can cancel your membership at any time. I look forward to seeing you at the next meeting, and later ones.

The (video) meetings are on Zoom, but you won’t need to upload any software, just click on a link on the Regarding Men website. You can remain anonymous if you want, using only audio, or even contribute solely by sending messages, which I’ll read out from time to time.

Dr. Dre In Fight Of His Life, Wife Nicole Young Now Demanding $2 Million A Month In Spousal Support, Following Allegation The Producer Tore Up Pre-Nup

Nicole Young, in the divorce she has initiated from Andre Young (‘Dr Dre’), is seeking $1,936,399 per month in temporary spousal support along with an additional $5 million in lawyer fees, claiming that she signed their pre-nuptial agreement in 1996 under duress. The pair have two grown children – and Andre Young had already agreed to pay some form of spousal support. The concept of ex-wives being automatically entitled to financial support from their ex-husbands is archaic and absurd. Ban alimony NOW!
