Our thanks to Mike P for this. There are estimated to be thousands of men in British jails wrongly convicted of rapes that never happened, due to women making false allegations, corrupt police officers, and corrupt CPS staff. How many of these criminals (including the woman in this case) will face punishment? My guess is none, as usual.
Why should men have to rely on social media messages to prove their innocence? They should be considered innocent until proven guilty, not vice versa. False accusers will respond by not sending messages to men whose lives they wish to destroy, at no risk to themselves (and of course they enjoy lifelong anonymity, even in cases such as this one). They’ll probably start sending social media messages accusing the men of having just raped them, which will be taken as “evidence” the man is guilty.
