Speakers’ Corner, London – where Men’s Rights Activists (MRAs) and other anti-feminists meet. Join us there, Sunday, 14 July.

Nostradormouse, Lynton, Jack, Richard, Rod, Ewan, Big Nose, Mike

Mike Buchanan and other Men’s Rights Activists (MRAs) and anti-feminists visit Speakers’ Corner, London, on alternate Sundays, from approximately 10:30 onwards, and we stay for at least two hours, sometimes more. The next meeting will be on 14 July, we invite you to join us.

We campaign for men and women to have equal rights, because women and girls have rights denied to men and boys in many areas. 20 such areas were explored in the J4MB 2015 general election manifesto. One of the “equal rights” placard designs is here.

We campaign against Male Genital Mutilation (MGM), a crime under the Offences Against the Persons Act 1861, being at least ABH, and almost certainly GBH. The party’s playlist of 90+ video and audio pieces relating to MGM is here, it includes footage taken at Speakers’ Corner.

If you’d like to know if Mike and others are planning to attend Speakers’ Corner on a particular Sunday, please contact us (info@j4mb.org.uk).

Members of The London Group are invariably present at Speakers’ Corner on the same days, some of them speaking on stepladders about men’s issues, feminism etc.

Our online photo album of images taken at Speakers’ Corner is here.

Paul Elam: Men. Women. Relationships. (interview with Claude.com, part 1 of 2)

Paul Elam is the co-author of a number of books, and recently published the first book of which he’s the sole author, Men. Women. Relationships: Surviving the Plague of Modern Masculinity. On amazon.co.uk (last link) the paperback edition costs £14.15, the Kindle edition £7.07. I had the pleasure of contributing to the publication of the book in a number of key areas, through my publishing imprint LPS publishing. If you want support with your own book project, let me know (mike@j4mb.org.uk).

Paul was recently interviewed about the book, and much more, Part 1 here (video, 46:54). Well worth catching. Part 2 to follow shortly, and of course we’ll link to that, too.

Male rights activist hits back at ITV’s ‘ridiculous’ all-male comedy writing team decision

I was recently interviewed at some length by Bill McLoughlin, a journalist at the Express. His article, published today, is here. I do wish journalists, after interviewing me, would pass their articles by me for fact checking. They never do. If Bill had done so, I could have told him that this ridiculous line doesn’t reflect what I said:

Moreover, Mr Buchanan insisted that his party is “disproportionality” (sic) represented by women.

I’ve long been a comedy fan, and find Netflix meets my needs. If you’re a subscriber, check out shows by the American stand-up comedian Brian Regan. Hilarious.

Family Justice Panel – the latest feminist corruption of the Ministry of Justice (cont’d)

Our thanks to Rick for alerting us to the fact that FNF BPM have issued a document which may help you, if you’re a British citizen, in writing a letter to your MP. We also urge you to sign Lynne Marguerite Blore’s petition to the UK government and parliament about the composition of the Family Justice Panel.

Family Justice Panel – the latest feminist corruption of the Ministry of Justice

[Update 29.6.19: We’ve just learned that FNF BPM have issued a document which may help you, if you’re a British citizen, in writing a letter to your MP. We also urge you to sign Lynne Marguerite Blore’s petition to the UK government and parliament about the composition of the Family Justice Panel.]

My thanks to Elizabeth for this press release, published a week ago by the Ministry of Justice. The full content:

Panel members confirmed to steer call for evidence on how the family courts protect children and parents in cases of domestic abuse and other serious offences.

On 21 May 2019 the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) announced a public call for evidence steered by a panel of key representatives from across family justice, to gather evidence on how the family courts protect children and parents in cases of domestic abuse and other serious offences.

The inaugural panel meeting took place on Friday 14 June 2019, marking the start for the three-month call for evidence. The panel members represent key organisations from across family justice including the Judiciary, academia, social care, policy officials and third sector organisations which represent and advocate for victims of domestic abuse, (full details below).

The call for evidence will specifically focus on the application of Practice Direction 12J, Practice Direction 3AA, The Family Procedure Rules Part 3A, and s.91(14) orders, and will build a more detailed understanding of any harm caused during or following proceedings in the family court.

The panel members are:

  • Melissa Case & Nicola Hewer, Director of Family and Criminal Justice Policy, MOJ (Chair)
  • Professor Liz Trinder, University of Exeter
  • Professor Rosemary Hunter FAcSS, University of Kent
  • Professor Mandy Burton, University of Leicester
  • Mr Justice Stephen Cobb, Judiciary
  • District Judge Katherine Suh, Judiciary
  • Nicki Norman, Acting Co-Chief Executive, Women’s Aid [J4MB emphasis]
  • Dierdre Fottrell QC & Lorraine Cavanagh QC (joint representatives), Association of Lawyers for Children
  • Isabelle Trowler, Chief Social Worker for England (Children & Families)

The panel will also be supported by analysts, researchers and relevant policy officials from MOJ.

So 10 of the 11 members of the “expert panel” are women, one of them from Women’s Aid. Welcome to family justice (2019). From Rosemary Hunter’s Wikipedia page:

Hunter is also a feminist who has written books such as Indirect Discrimination in the Workplace. In this work she argued that many apparently neutral employer policies effectively disadvantage women and people from minority groups. For example, a height requirement for security guards would effectively exclude many women and Asians.

Using the same logic, an eyesight requirement for airline pilots would “effectively exclude” blind people, while a hearing requirement for music critics would “effectively exclude” deaf people. As a 100kg 61-year-old man, I am “effectively excluded” from the Olympics pole vault finals. White men are “effectively excluded” from the Olympics 100 metres final, because the fastest eight men in the world are black. Something must be done about these terrible injustices.

Ms Hunter’s university web page shows her to be a card-carrying radical feminist, and therefore – by definition – hostile to the nuclear family. The last person who should be on the Family Justice Panel.

And what of Mr Justice Stephen Cobb, the only man on the 10-person panel? This brings me to an excellent article from 2017 by Paul Apreda of FNF Both Parents Matter Cymru, Are the best interests of the child no longer paramount? Extracts:

Stephen Cobb is a very senior Judge in the Family Court. He is a remarkable man. He recently proposed an effective end to the paramountcy principle – the overarching golden rule in family proceedings that the best interests of the child are paramount. But not content with demolishing the corner stone of the system, it looks as though he may believe the family courts can overrule the will of Parliament too…

In paragraph 4 of his review Mr Justice Cobb tells us that he consulted with Women’s Aid…oh and Rights of Women. He also mentions a number of feminist academics, including Professor Rosemary Hunter [J4MB: our emphasis] – who is currently the academic representative on the Family Justice Council – plus a few others, all of whom are likely to have argued from substantially the same position. Did he consider that perhaps Women’s Aid and Rights of Women are not the best qualified to represent the perspective of male victims of abuse? Did he consult with anyone about the extent to which false and spurious allegations of abuse may be a characteristic of private law proceedings? We can but speculate. The issues around false allegations have been illustrated in an earlier post on Marilyn’s blog here.

URGENT: Let’s enable Jon Baily to attend ICMI19, Chicago

[Update 29.6.19: The Chicago conference is now just seven weeks away. We need to pay for Jon Baily’s flight tickets flights soon, before the costs start rising, as they will. Paul Elam has donated £50, as I have, and a number of generous MRAs have taken the total to £500. If the target of £1,800 isn’t met, donations will be refunded in full, and Jon won’t be going to Chicago. But I refuse to be pessimistic. Jon deserves to go to Chicago, and I urge you to donate what you can afford, to enable that. Thank you.]

Jon Baily and his 16-year-old son attended our recent Cambridge University talks. Both were later assaulted by protesters. He’s courageously allowed his identity to be known, and has publicly spoken the truth about those assaults.

We’ve just launched a crowdfunder to raise the £1,800 required to cover the costs for Jon to attend the Chicago conference, and I’ve personally donated £50 towards it. Please contribute what you can. Jon richly deserves to attend the conference. Thanks.

Ewan Jones’s interview of Dr Jules Gomes, “The Rebel Priest”

Ewan Jones, the stalwart videomaker, recently had his YouTube channel taken down, so he moved his material to BitChute – here. He was recently due to film Dr Jules Gomes, “The Rebel Priest”, delivering a talk at Oxford Town Hall, titled, “Feminism was women’s great enemy — until transgenderism came along”. The talk was cancelled by Oxford Council officials just two days beforehand, allegedly after complaints from local LGBT people who knew nothing about the content of the talk. Ewan was scheduled to be the videomaker that evening. Not to be thwarted, he then filmed a Skype interview with Jules Gomes, here (video, 1:01:36). In my view, it’s one of his best interviews to date. I’m looking forward to the videos he’ll be recording at the Chicago conference, now just seven weeks away.

Jules Gomes recently published his talk, courtesy of Air TV International – here (video, 31:33). The transcript is on his own website, here.

Nagging wife who told her bodybuilder husband to tidy the house more and go to the gym less is ARRESTED and locked in cells for 17 hours and charged with ‘controlling behaviour’

Our thanks to Groan for this. He writes:

An interesting exercise in “shaming” . The Daily Mail takes the usual gynocentric line of making fun of the victim in a case brought against a wife for “Coercive Control”. For all the fun at this man’s expense in fact he “won” in that she was given a 2 year restraining order as a plea bargain. As we know the police and CPS are particularly loathe to prosecute women so the actual case must have been very different to this “fun” piece which makes him the butt of the joke.
