“HOPE not hate” report – State of Hate 2019

The author of the absurd HuffPo article to which we’ve just posted a link, Simon Murdoch of “Hope not hate”, is one of the authors of a 104-page report by the organization, State of Hate 2019. Specifically, he’s the author of the section titled, “Societal Misogyny and the Manosphere: Understanding the UK Anti-Feminist movement” (pp.38-41). Enjoy.

HuffPo: Why Understanding The UK Anti-Feminist Movement Is Vital To Countering The Far Right

A spectacularly woeful piece by Simon Murdoch, “researcher” (“inventor” would be more accurate) for HOPE not Hate, just published by HuffPo. Some nonsense is written about J4MB, but there’s no such thing as bad publicity at this stage, so our thanks to Simon Murdoch, mangina though he clearly is.

The piece contains many hyperlinks, but not one to the “2018 online statement” which is the focus of the first two paragraphs. Murdoch is referring to The Non-Feminist Declaration. The Declaration is here, the associated website here.

ManWomanMyth: Equality – Conclusion

ManWomanMyth is a legendary British vlogger, who sadly ceased posting material in 2014 / 2015. His material was very influential. Our thanks to W for sending us a memory stick with 97 of his videos. Among them are 15 videos on the subject of equality, the final one being Equality – Conclusion (video, 12:14). MWM’s original YouTube posts got many thousands of hits, there are fewer on this because it’s a more recent “mirror”.

Among his interviewees are Angry Harry (who sadly died just months before the 2016 conference, which he was looking forward to attending) and Erin Pizzey (Erin will be 80 tomorrow).

Karen Straughan (GirlWritesWhat) announces the fifth International Conference on Men’s Issues – Chicago, 16-18 August, 2019

Karen Straughan has just posted this (video, 9:58). The organizers are the Honey Badger Brigade, of which she’s a key member.

The ICMI19 website is here. You have until 1 March to take advantage of the “Early Bird Special”, to order tickets at US$319.99 (a printed shirt is included). We recommend you take advantage of the excellent hotel accommodation offer.

One of the conference speakers will be Philip Davies MP, who gave a well-received talk at the 2016 conference at Excel London, The Justice Gender Gap. In November 2018, during his introduction to the House of Commons debate commemorating International Men’s Day, he became the first person in British political history to explain in a parliamentary debate that inflicting non-therapeutic circumcision on male minors (Male Genital Mutilation, MGM) is a criminal offence under the Offences Against the Person Act 1861. Video here (4:26).

Both Elizabeth Hobson and I are looking forward to attending the event, and giving presentations.

Playlists of the 70+ presentations (and other materials, e.g. speaker interviews) at the former conferences in the series can be found on playlists on our YouTube channel:

Detroit (2014).

London (2016).

Gold Coast, Australia (2017).

London (2018).

We confidently expect the Chicago conference will be the best conference in the series to date, and we look forward to seeing many of you there.
