New York witches place hex on Brett Kavanaugh

Our thanks to Steve for this piece published today on the BBC website. He writes:

Tucked away at the bottom of the article…

“Witchcraft is a practice, not a religion,” Ms Bracciale explained. “It’s what one does, not what one believes.”

She said that followers of witchcraft see motivation in its history: “It has always been practiced by the most downtrodden, disenfranchised and oppressed peoples who have used it as a tool for survival… to be the arbiter of their own justice since it would be denied by the powers that be.

“[We see] the witch as a political figure who threatens and works to take down the patriarchy. [Steve’e emphasis] This has been seen throughout history, but more recently in American society.

“We uphold this legacy which merges art, political theatre, religious iconology and socio-political resistance.”

Feminists and witches. One and the same thing.

Theresa May enters ‘killing zone’

A piece in today’s Sunday Times by Tim Shipman, Political Editor:

A Tory rising star today issues a call to arms for MPs to oust Theresa May, saying Britain cannot be led by someone guilty of an “abject failure to govern” at such a defining moment in our history.

Writing in The Sunday Times, Johnny Mercer says he “cannot continue to support an administration that cannot function” on issues from Brexit to the Grenfell Tower disaster and the Windrush scandal.

He spoke out as numerous Tory MPs said May was on course to face a vote of no confidence this week as all wings of the party united against her.

An ally of David Davis, the former Brexit secretary who is tipped as an interim leader, said May was entering “the killing zone”. One who hopes to succeed added: “Assassination is in the air.”

The prime minister has been summoned to plead for her job before the back-bench 1922 committee on Wednesday — a process dubbed “a show trial” by one Tory.

She is now under attack from her MPs on five fronts as it was claimed that:

● Up to 46 MPs have sent a letter demanding a contest, two short of the number needed

● A “handful” of cabinet members would vote against May in a secret ballot

● Organisers of the People’s Vote march are talking to 50 Tories, including five frontbenchers, who might back a second referendum

● Allies of Davis are encouraging the coup and have sounded out Boris Johnson’s friends to see if the former foreign secretary would stand aside

● Brexit secretary Dominic Raab is expected to use a BBC interview today to insist that May cannot sign up to membership of a customs union without an end date.

Mercer’s intervention is significant because it reveals how mainstream Conservatives have joined hardline Brexiteers in opposing the prime minister.

The former army officer revealed that he has received “overwhelming” messages of support from ministers and MPs after branding the government “a shitshow” last week. Today he attacks what he calls an “abject failure of this government to govern, to lead”, condemning May’s cautious managerial approach.

“I cannot continue to support an administration that cannot function,” he writes.

Mercer does not mention May by name, but argues that modern leadership “requires courage, fight and conviction”, before adding: “We need technocrats and managers . . . but at this defining moment in our history, Britain cannot be led by them.”

A cabinet minister warned that May was “endangering her own government” by refusing to take a different approach to Brexit. “This is the first time I’ve thought it could fall over,” the minister said. “She’s not listening. That’s kamikaze.”

The immediate threat is from supporters of Davis and Johnson. MPs say Davis’s allies have urged them to put in letters of no confidence. One said: “I got a text saying that history would never forgive me if we let her stay in power.”

That comes after Stewart Jackson, Davis’s former chief of staff, last week predicted May “will surely be removed from office” unless her approach to Brexit changes.

A former cabinet minister who also backs Davis compared the prime minister’s performance on Brexit to the appeasement of the Nazis: “There is a view that the party would be regarded as irresponsible to replace her now, but we did turf out Chamberlain in 1940.”

If a vote is triggered, Downing Street aides are planning to lean on Sir Graham Brady, chairman of the 1922 committee, to delay a vote for several weeks to give May time to secure a deal with Brussels.

MPs claim that Brady has urged MPs who approach him to hand in a letter to think of the consequences of ousting the prime minister.

In a further headache for May, the former Brexit minister Steve Baker yesterday tabled a series of amendments to the Northern Ireland bill, which is due in the Commons this week.

They would enshrine in law pledges by the prime minister that the Brexit deal would not introduce any new regulatory barriers between Great Britain and Northern Ireland without explicit consent from the latter. If passed, they would render illegal the EU’s planned Brexit backstop plan.

The Sunday Times can also reveal that Conor Burns, Johnson’s former parliamentary aide, threatened to demand May’s head in an extraordinary showdown with JoJo Penn, the prime minister’s deputy chief of staff, on Tuesday.

David Canzini, who works for Sir Lynton Crosby, the election strategist expected to run Johnson’s leadership campaign, was also contacting MPs last week about whether they were putting in letters.

Bettina Arndt

An email from Bettina Arndt takes up the rest of this blog piece.

HI Everybody,

I now have a team of impressive people helping me with my efforts to bring Sydney University protesters to account for their actions. The University investigation is underway. Let’s see if that leads anywhere.

It looks like I have one more campus talk this year, on Wednesday Nov 7 at Macquarie University in Sydney. I’d love it if Sydneysiders came along to support me. I’ll post details on my Facebook page and website as soon as they are available.

I am making big plans for early next year, aiming to cover as many campuses as possible exposing the frightening truth behind the fake rape campus crisis – which is all about the efforts of feminists to persuade universities to get involved in investigating and trying date rape cases.

I was delighted that The Australian this week published a number of stories about this issue. One article mentioned the Adelaide University PhD student who came to me last year for help in warding off a committee investigating a rape allegation against him. You may have seen the video I made telling his story.

The Weekend Australian ran an excellent editorial talking about the need to insulate campus sexual complaint investigations from the excesses of victim-cheering. It talked about the fact that my campus tour was questioning whether there is research evidence to support rape crisis claims, suggesting such discussion is “tailor-made for the inquiring minds of young adults.”

Now for my new video…. as a stunning illustration of the dangers of this feminist push for victim–centred justice, I’d like you listen to an amazing talk given in July at the International Conference on Men’s issues in London. The speaker Patrick Graham is a retired social worker, who, along with four elderly men, was falsely accused by a delusional woman of being part of a paedophile ring.

This was one of the UK rape cases which collapsed due to deliberate withholding of social media evidence. Patrick tells an extraordinary story exposing the frightening influence of feminism on law systems across the world. Please help me circulate this important talk.

Prince Harry’s speech – Invictus Games, Sydney

This piece (video, 8:34) is on the Royal Family’s YouTube channel.

The Invictus Games are currently being held in Sydney, Australia. The start of the Wikipedia entry:

The Invictus Games is an international adaptive multi-sport event, created by Prince Harry, in which wounded, injured or sick armed services personnel and their associated veterans take part in sports including wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball, and indoor rowing. Named after Invictus, Latin for “unconquered” or “undefeated”, the event was inspired by the Warrior Games, a similar event held in the United States. The first Invictus Games took place in September 2014 at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London, United Kingdom.

Surely nobody other than Hilary Clinton would deny that the overwhelming majority of “wounded, injured or sick armed services personnel” – and let’s not forget the countless dead – have been men, since time immemorial. So, in this era of Meghan “this is what a feminist looks like” Markle, how many men are there visible in the rows in the background behind Prince Harry, when he gives his speech? None. Not one. When men must surely represent 99%+ of those killed and injured in the conflicts in which Invictus Games competitors risked life and limb.

I’m so appalled at this crass insensitivity towards male suffering, that I’m lost for words. My beloved late father Malcolm, a Morse Code operator who jumped onto a Normandy beach along with Field Marshal Montgomery’s company on his 21st birthday, on 11 June 1944, five days after D-Day, must be rolling in his grave.

Women and Equalities Committee concerned by ageism in the jobs market, utterly unconcerned by male unemployment – which rose by 31,000 in the period May to August, while female unemployment fell by 50,000 in the same period.

Our thanks to Douglas for an email, which takes up the remainder of this blog piece:

Our wonderfully biased government ‘equalities’ committee has decried the way that older people are discriminated against in the employment market – here.

However, as we might expect of an ‘equalities’ committee that is structurally submissive to the Minister for Women, there is still not a word about the notable sex gap in unemployment. Men remain the majority of unemployed, as they have for many years now.

Male unemployment has risen by 31,000 in the period May to August. Female unemployment fell by 50,000 in the same period.

Yet the Women and Equalities Committee, in a report dated 17 October 2018, happily reports that the “The labour market remains strong and resilient.” Well, yes, it does for women, doesn’t it?

The Office for National Statistics no longer publishes statistics broken down by age group (though such can be requested of them) so the figures of unemployed older men compared to unemployed older women are not immediately clear. However, data revealed in 2016 showed that unemployed men aged 31-64 numbered 901,397 while the same for women was 765,396. The same data also revealed that men are typically unemployed for longer. (Source here.)

Well, at least the committee is not just concerning itself with women. It’s a pity that they won’t care about men. The United Kingdom needs a Men’s Minister (or three, to match the three Women’s Ministers).

Marks and Spencer says it WON’T change the name of its ‘Mansize’ tissues after Kleenex bows to complaints

Our thanks to Danuta for this. The end of the piece:

Kimberly-Clark, which makes Kleenex, had responded to complaints on Twitter by a mother from Surrey, who complained her four-year-old son had been confused by the Mansize branding.

It said it would change the name in response to a ‘consistent increase of complaints on gender concern’. However, as critics ridiculed the trend for scrapping long-standing brand names on the basis of a few online complaints, M&S declared: ‘We’re not currently planning on making any changes.’

The moves by Kleenex and Waitrose led to a barrage of wisecracks on social media.

One Twitter user joked that Mothercare would be next on the hitlist, while another tweeted: ‘Have you complained about Mum deodorant not being just for mums?’

The piece has attracted almost 500 comments since it was posted earlier today. The most upvoted:

Good. That’s me converted to Marks and Sparks. We need to all get behind businesses that say enough is enough.

Agreed. I’m going to spend some money at M&S tomorrow. They sell some good men’s chinos for £19.99.

MANCHESTER: Dr David Hibbert and Mr Yaakov Hibbert have “over 30 years experience of creating a smooth circumcision experience for babies to adults”

Our thanks to Michael for pointing us to this matter.

Dr David Hibbert and Mr Yaakov Hibbert are the criminals behind Circumcision Manchester. We’ve archived their website, here. So proud are they of their mutilations of male genitals for over 30 years, they funded a promotional video (1:07).

Almost two years ago I had a brief encounter with Dr Joseph Spitzer, a well-known mohel (Jewish ritual circumciser), at his clinic in London. Following our request, the good people at A Voice for Men added him to their Directory of Known Genital Mutilators, and published this, including my video (2:50) of the encounter.

If you Google search “Dr Joseph Spitzer”, you’ll find this. Almost two years on from our encounter, anyone Google searching his name will immediately see links to materials pointing out the illegality of his “profession”, and the physical and psychological damage that can result from MGM.

I’ll now ask AVfM to add both Dr David Hibbert and Mr Yaakov Hibbert to their Directory of Known Genitals Mutilators, and I look forward to pieces including this one being prominent on Google searches.

Our playlist of 80+ audio and video pieces on MGM is here.
