Hundreds of female protesters block road in Parliament Square to voice pension concerns. Arrests: 0. Mike Buchanan blocked the same road to protest against the lack of prosecutions for MGM. Arrests: 1.

Our thanks to Ian for this. Hundreds of women from the campaign group Women Against State Pension Inequality (WASPI) – which should more accurately be termed Women Against State Pension Equality, because that’s what they’re actually complaining about, having the same retirement age as men, after many years of having an earlier retirement age – stopped the traffic in Parliament Square, the same place I stopped traffic for a much shorter time on 1 June 2016, protesting against the CPS / police not prosecuting the criminals who carry out MGM – video here.

One of the supporting organizations at the event was “BackTo60”, which I think we can safely assume is a keen supporter of state pension inequality.

One notable difference between WASPI stopping the traffic, and me stopping the traffic, was that none of the women were arrested, while I was. Indeed, the women received public support from mangina MPs including Stephen Morgan (Labour, Portsmouth South). The creep tweeted this:

Good to join @solent_waspi during the @WASPI_Campaign_ rally today in Parliament Square. I will continue to stand with campaigners to fight state pension injustice #notgoingaway

Karen Woodall: “It’s child abuse but not as we know it – when healthy parenting is regarded as more harmful than abuse”

A excellent piece just published by Karen Woodall, an expert in the field of Parental Alienation. I’ve posted some comments and Karen has responded, to which I’ve responded… it would be good if some followers of this blog could post their own comments, whether based on their personal experience of CAFCASS, or not.

Social Justice Film Festival (2017): Brendon Marotta references J4MB

Our thanks to Gary Costanza, the amazing man behind the AVfM Known Genital Mutilators initiative, for this (video, 25:25). Some of the video quality isn’t great, doubtless not attributable to Brendon Marotta, the man behind American Circumcision, but our thanks to Brendon for his reference to “the men and boys party in the UK”, shortly after 14:50.

National Secular Society: James Chegwidden (barrister) and Brian D Earp (ethicist) talk about MGM

The National Secular Society’s Healthcare & Secularism conference in Birmingham today was well worth attending, primarily (for myself and J4MB supporters) for two presentations on MGM, both of which were excellent. We’ll post the videos as soon as they’re made available.

The first presentation was given by James Chegwidden, a human right barrister, “One green bottle – male circumcision and the law”. More on James in a moment.

The second was given by Brian D Earp, “Gender or genital autonomy? Why framing non-therapeutic genital cutting as a children’s rights issue is both ethically and pragmatically necessary.” Brian is an American ethicist, based for some years at The Oxford Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics. He flew from the US just for the conference, and is flying back this evening. We’ve linked to some excellent papers by Brian on the ethics of MGM and FGM in the past.

The video recording today was carried out by Richard Duncker, and I assume he’ll be doing the editing. For some time he’s run the website Men Do Complain. Last year he posted on the website a video of James Chegwidden giving a talk in 2016, “Not drowning, paddling: The English Court’s slow row to genital autonomy”. This is Richard’s introduction to the video:

Barrister James Chegwidden takes us through the English Court’s current views on genital autonomy. The presentation was given at Keele University, September 2016. This video is essential viewing for anyone interested in child protection and the Family Courts in particular.

The video is embedded here (35:38).

LOS ANGELES: A men’s rights activist sued a women’s beer event

Our thanks to Douglas for this. The start of the piece:

In 2011, Ting Su, [J4MB: A woman, natch] the co-founder of Eagle Rock Brewery in Los Angeles, launched a monthly event for women interested in beer. The aim was to balance out the overwhelmingly male and white beer world, where, Su said, men often feel entitled to interject their own opinions when women customers asked women bartenders, like her, for recommendations. [J4MB: Oh no! On almost every occasion the men would know a damned sight more about beer than “women bartenders”, but clearly they’re just mean to shut the hell up to protect a special snowflake’s feelz.] The Women’s Beer Forum was a space where the women would outnumber the men while discussing craft beer, a rarity.

But in November 2017, as Su tells Eater, a man emailed Eagle Rock’s general information line asking for a spot at the ticketed forum. A staff member mistakenly told the man that the event was for women only (in fact, men have attended before), and even after he was offered access to a future women’s beer event, the man ultimately filed a discrimination claim through the Department of Fair Employment and Housing, the entity in charge of enforcing California’s civil rights laws.

The man is Steve Frye, a men’s rights activist, or MRA, who is hardly a stranger to filing discrimination cases against California businesses and, at one point, Donald Trump. In 2011, Frye sued one of Trump’s golf courses because it offered a 25 percent discount to “ladies” for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

It’s just one of dozens of other lawsuits he’s filed for ladies’ night specials or deals for women. Men’s rights activists believe that society is actually sexist against men, and Frye has perfected the subculture’s favorite way to target what they see as a society that is sexist against men: suing businesses and organizations that incentivize women to go there.

Bettina Arndt – update

Received from Bettina earlier today:

Hi Everyone,

We are really excited about our new video, featuring Senator Amanda Stoker in Senate Estimates on Thursday night, grilling the higher education people about freedom of speech and my Sydney University protest.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwg7jNvcph0

She was brilliant, carefully establishing who has the authority for monitoring that universities enforce their freedom of speech regulations. And then questioning the Chair of TEQSA, the Tertiary Education and Standards Agency, Prof Nicholas Saunders, about what happened at Sydney and whether this involved breaches of the University’s code of conduct. Saunders was actually very impressive, even mentioning the Chicago charter and being very firm about the fundamental nature of higher education institutions being about contesting ideas. It is so rare to hear a heavy-weight in the Higher Education system speaking out about these matters.

Senator James Paterson also managed to get Saunders to admit it is not appropriate to charge security fees.

Labor Senator Louise Pratt interrupted the proceedings with various comments and then, when she has the floor, slagged off at me, talking about people hiring rooms on campus to promote dubious theories – equating me to a tobacco company. She then launched into a long series of questions about why the universities aren’t doing more about the rape crisis.

I was most amused to discover that she is the Shadow Assistant Minister for Universities and Equity!

Anyway, have a look at this wonderful performance by Senator Stoker and the encouraging response from Saunders who has taken questions on notice to investigate the action Sydney University is taking on these matters.

I hope you will help me circulate the video and like it. I think it is very important that the discussion about free speech on campuses is now involving members of parliament.

Article for Quillette about Challenging the Campus Rape Narrative

The other news is I’ve written an article for the online journal Quillette which has just been published about why I am running my campus tour and what’s behind the campus rape narrative. You might find this useful to explain to people who are questioning whether the campus rape fuss is a big deal.

https://quillette.com/2018/10/25/challenging-the-campus-rape-narrative/

I was thrilled that Jordan Peterson has just tweeted about the article.

Need help from Macquarie University people.

Finally I want to remind Sydney people about my Macquarie Uni talk coming up soon – on Wednesday Nov 7. See flyer attached.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE – I am urgently seeking Macquarie University contacts – students, past and present, or anyone who has recent knowledge of the university. Could you contact me as soon as possible? I just want to have a confidential conversation with people in this circumstance.

Helena Horton – radical feminist “journalist” and activist working at the Telegraph. Tweeter of “#Gamergate is a prime example of why we need to #KillAllMen” (2014), liar about Philip Davies MP (2017).

The Telegraph “journalist” Helena Horton is mentioned on the website of the International Journalism Festival, being held in Italy next April – her entry here. Her bio there:

Helena Horton is a British journalist and activist, [J4MB emphasis] who has interests in LGBTQ liberation and feminism.

She has appeared on national radio multiple times and written for numerous publications including the Guardian, the Gay Times, and the Independent. She currently works at the Daily Mirror, writing about politics, LGBTQ liberation and pets for their Data blog, Ampp3d, and their Social Content team.

The publications she works for, which have a political bias, are all left-wing. No mention of the Telegraph, although the paper is undoubtedly feminist-inclined.

Yesterday we posted links to two of Ms Horton’s pieces in the Telegraph:

Emily Dawes, blithering idiot and student union president, causes outrage after vowing to take down war memorial mural because it contains only white men”

University of the West of England, Bristol, only university in UK with a men’s officer, scraps role after its sole candidate suffers harassment

So, why are we doing a piece on Helena Horton today? Because we’ve been reminded that HEqual wrote an excellent piece on this radical feminist activist in June 2017, on the aftermath of the previous month’s general election, Telegraph writer Helena Horton caught repeatedly lying about Philip Davies says “we need to #killallmen”.
